Andrew Kilmartin was a quietly respectable lawyer working in the City of London. Until the day a wanted killer forced a way into his office.
Against all the odds, Kilmartin believed that Franz Schmidt was innocent. But it was a belief that would endanger not only his own life, but also that of Schmidt's beautiful daughter, Freya - now guardian of her father's latest, and most revolutionary invention. Because there were some who would commit any crime to ensure that they alone held the key to all of Schmidt's secrets.

Not great for Kindergarten
Derived From Web , May 11, 2022
I bought this for my son who has completed kindergarten. It did not entrap him. I read it and the other books designed for children to him over the summer break, but not at bedtime. I think it's too awkward for a booktime read ''. Will probably read and discuss as a mini history type break during the day.

Terrific & informative reader
Derived From Web , Jun 19, 2021
A great book for kids, albeit at an advanced level. Once you have reached advanced writing skills, save it for your kids. Covers the story that we all know well and in an interesting way. A last plus is that the beautiful page contains the phonetic spellings for some more difficult words to read. Highly recommended. See the short preview I provide here.

Perfect summary of the Trojan War for early readers!
Derived From Web , Feb 12, 2021
Gives an ideal introduction to Homer's Odyssey for early readers and remains as true to the original texts as tastefully possible. The illustrations helped my children to visualize the setting and action in such a way that it was both accurate and engaging.

My boys love it!
Derived From Web , May 10, 2018
My boys love this book 6 and 4. I read it over and over again to them. It is so fun to learn together. Great pictures and an excellent journey through time. The book connects the story to the more recent days when the city was actually discovered in the sands.
