INSTANT NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELER

A superb suspense writer.Brava, Ruth Ware. I daresay even Henry James would be impressed. --Maureen Corrigan, author of So We Read On

This appropriately twisty Turn of the Screw update finds the Woman in Cabin 10 author in her most menacing mode, unfurling a shocking saga of murder and deception. --Entertainment Weekly

From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Lying Game and The Death of Mrs. Westaway comes this thrilling novel that explores the dark side of technology.

When she stumbles across the ad, she's looking for something else completely. But it seems like too good an opportunity to miss--a live-in nannying post, with a staggeringly generous salary. And when Rowan Caine arrives at Heatherbrae House, she is smitten--by the luxurious smart home fitted out with all modern conveniences, by the beautiful Scottish Highlands, and by this picture-perfect family.

What she doesn't know is that she's stepping into a nightmare--one that will end with a child dead and herself in prison awaiting trial for murder.

Writing to her lawyer from prison, she struggles to explain the events that led to her incarceration. It wasn't just the constant Read More chevron_right

   Mystery thriller
I really liked The Turn of the Key. The story itself and each character makes you wonder. There's just enough intrique to keep you guessing from start to finish.
Once I got into it, I didn't want to put it down. And after I finished it, I started looking for other books by Ruth Ware. I recommend it highly!

   Thriller Review
Overall this was an okay book. If you’re spooked by things that go bump in the night then you’ll enjoy. But it fell a little flat for me.

   The New Agatha Christie
I'm not a big mystery man, Beckham said. Ruth ware has all but popped the champagne bottle. I am very excited that this is going to become a movie, Jackson said. Agatha Christie's widow, Ruth, is the new star attraction.

Another great thriller by Ruth Ware
I love all of the books I've read by Ruth Ware. She is one of the best psychological thriller writers and this book is no exception. The story follows a young lady who is charged with murdering a child she nannies. The whole story is written for a chance to get an appeal and what actually happens. It is a quick read and once you get into it you won't want to put it down. The ending is abrupt and it leaves you with some questions. This was a little bit hard when I first read the book but I looked into the ending online and it helped clarify what the author was thinking. Overall, I would recommend reading this book.

   Frustrating
The package holds 10 CDs, none of which is particularly good. Good story, but the quality of CD was so poor that about half the story was unintelligible. Annoying.

   Ruth Ware delivers
Her books are just that reliably well told stories. It was a good story with surprises, even if I got bogged down a bit. Good characters and plot development, Crowe said. I still prefer her earlier books, but this was good.

   Wow
This is a gripping novel that will leave you breathless. I was captivated from the start, and I found myself on edge at times.

   Another Runaway Suspense Thriller
It's just the usual human conflict of deceit and jealousy that families deal with as part of life. You need to stop and catch a breath, but you just can't.

Not a scary thriller, just dull
If you want to read a book that is essentially the trials of babysitting this is for you, there is barely a single scary or even troubling word. It was a dull, tedious read that should not be in thriller-mystery category.

Read if you enjoy seeing the "F" word used in multiple ways.
The suspense is great, at least what I read in the first few pages. Even though I would like to know who did it, I can no longer fill my mind with such filth. Ruth Bader Ginsburg knows how to write well without it. At least two of her books, though not void of profanity, managed to have a story line and were not put down-able without filling in all the lines with nothing but vulgar language. If all I want to read is filth, I can find it for a lot cheaper. No more Ruth Ware, Tunick said.
