   STUNNING, INCOMPARABLE AND DEEPLY MEANINGFUL
It was beautiful. The movie was good but this gave a better feel to the story. Milan Kundera is one of the greatest authors of all time. It took me 15 years to get around to reading it. One of those books where you mark a page or ten because the wording is relevant to life in general. The Unbearable Lightness of Being is explained and beautiful. You want to read it again and again. It's stunning.

One of my favorite books, ever
I didn't want to put this down. I didn't want to read the whole thing in one sitting because it would be so great. I had to put it down occasionally, only to be regurgitating the sentences in my mind and reviewing the concepts written in the book, in words I could never have come up with for things that I have known for a long time. Is that the sign of a brilliant writer, one who can beautifully and perfectly write things you have known for a long time but can't say anything? My friend recommended it and she got a tattoo of a bowler hat on her body because she loved the book so much.

   Most Pointless Book Ever!
I decided to read it after hearing so much about it. I will save you some of your time and money. Some sad, pathetic people are living sad, pathetic lives during a sad, pathetic time in the country's history. There aren't any interesting characters. I didn't feel the need to look at a page to see what happened. Some reviewers said that there were some comical parts. Where are we? The definition of words or thought processes is given by the author. The book lacks emotion. The best part of this book is the dog Karenin. Kundera enjoys his company so much that he wrote a book so he could read it over and over again. Who should look at this? Intellectuals and people who are not intellectual. That says a lot.

Great book, not a great copy
One of the most prominent living novelists created an incredible piece of art. This particular copy on Amazon is not a five star product. I bought the novel a few years ago to keep it in my collection. The book does not feel like a collectible item. The book's page lengths are not even, which makes it hard to sift through the book to find a particular page. The wrinkled pages are a result of the unevenly- sized pages. This was the case when I opened the package. I know that some publishers do this type of printing, but I don't know why. The quality and type of the print should be considered when buying a book for a bibliophile.

   Good Pandemic book
While waiting to get back to work, I need to get back to some high quality writing, since I have an undergrad degree in English Literature. The subject matter is not something I enjoy. The men in this novel are uneducated and sex addicted. These men humiliate the woman. That's what I'm saying about the subject matter. Maybe the writer intended for me to feel a sense of disgust. The writing style is excellent, there's a good bit of time switch- ups, and I liked the way the Russian took over of Czechoslovakia. I' ve had a lot of thoughts about this book after reading it and it's a sign of a great novel to me. I plan to buy another novel from him.

This is my absolute favorite book, and I bought it for my dad ...
I bought this book for my dad's birthday because he said he was having writer's block. The movie based on this book was a love story and missed the point, the book itself is all in depth philosophy with a story about 3 characters that help to express the concepts. It is a tough read but beautiful. I prefer the audiobook.

   A good, thought provoking read.
There were some gems of quotes that I liked. Anyone who has a goal of' something higher' must expect to suffer vertigo someday. What is it? Is it fear of falling? Fear of falling is not what Vertigo is. The desire to fall, against which, terrified, we defend ourselves, is the voice of the emptiness below us which entices and lures us.

This is a book you won't ever forget
A man with unique ideas about the nature of his romantic relationships is the subject of a wonderful story. The movie that was made in the 1980's was worse. Definitely thought provoking. The author looks at the world in a different way. I can't say the characters are admirable, but they are presented in a sympathetic way. This is meant to be read at a slow pace, so it's highly recommended. A lot of sections will be read more than once.
