Prequel to the Little Butterfly that Could?
Derived From Web , Feb 10, 2022
Our toddler loves the little butterfly that could be created by the same author. Until after, we did not know much about this book. It offers a short story of metamorphosis that comes right before the other book. Both a fan of the other!

I love this book and was so excited to read it to my classmates, but this arrived damaged. Normally, I am okay with damage if I knowingly buy it, but I bought this new full price for nearly $13. Disappointed ''.

Laugh Out Loud Funny
Derived From Web , Jul 17, 2021
The VERY IMPATIENT CATERPILLAR reflects me as a child-no patience! Burach's story had me in stitches as I saw myself. I like humor laced with facts about the metamorphosis of butterflies. The comedy and science at its best is science and comedy at its best. Even in the spot illustrations, the scenes pop with color, fun and movement. Great book for read aloud fun with the kids.

Hilarious!
Derived From Web , Oct 17, 2020
The book is really funny. However, some of the pages have several small pictures, which could be difficult to read if you are a teacher who is reading to a large group, but if you buy this to read to your child at home, that wouldn 't be an issue. .

Insider’s view of metamorphosis
Derived From Web , May 9, 2020
Even caterpillars need to learn patience! This book is adorable, and it lets children think about what it is like to live in a chrysalis for two weeks trying to become a butterfly. Even though it is highly fictionalized, there is enough science about metamorphosis to make this book easily fit into a classroom discussion of butterflies. And at the same time, children get a better understanding of what it means to be patient. Best of all, it is a funny, entertaining book!

Funny Book
Derived From Web , Apr 1, 2020
This humorous story told through speech bubbles explores as an impatient caterpillar learns everything about metamorphosis. Kids will giggle as they see him create a Chrysalis and struggle to entertain himself for two whole weeks. Not only does this book have a great lesson about good things happening to those who wait, but it would be a great addition to learning butterfly life cycle in a classroom.

Cute story but kinda long
Derived From Web , Mar 3, 2020
This is a good book with a cute moral at the end. The illustrations are educational and it is simple enough to keep PK students attention. It is attractive and teaches some big words. There are a few inferencing opportunities and a few opportunities to discuss actions and verbs. The only fault I have is that the book is kinda long. I skip or speed '' a few pages that I feel are too unnecessarily lengthy. Overall, it is a valued addition to my collection and pairs well with several crafts.

This book taught our 3-year-old patience alone. He understood that the caterpillar was impatient and now he understands when we ask him to be patient. Silly story, but a great read and fun teaching tool.
