Book Overview

Cora is struggling with her Whatif questions ahead of a big piano recital in this timely picture book about overcoming anxiety.

What if my dog runs away?
What if I forget my homework?
What if the sun stops shining?
What if my crayon breaks?

Cora is constantly worrying about everything. Because of this, the Whatifs love her. They sneak up to her and give her all kinds of doubts: big or small, silly or frightening, likely or impossible. As she prepares for an upcoming piano recital, the Whatifs cling on tighter and drag her down, making her anxious about messing up during the concert. Will she be able to change her worry-filled thoughts into hopeful ones?

   Great for kids with anxiety
When I was 5, she said she struggled with anxiety most of the night. It's a beautiful book, full of such a beautiful visual of the whatifs that keep her up at night. The talk has prompted great conversations about how to deal with her worries.

   Perfect for anxious children
My daughter felt so seen when we read this, she said. She asked a bunch of questions afterward so she could get to the bottom of some of the things bothering her.

   Everyone needs this book
A friend of ours recommended this to us because our children have good anxieties. We got it yesterday, they already are fans and it's opened up conversations, Sosa said. I'm a big fan and think everyone with a kid needs this book! It's great to be back home, said Blair.

   Terrible kids book!
This is a terrible book. The illustration itself creates more fear of a child. If you want your child to overcome fear, I strongly recommend that you do not recommend this book. This is more of creating more fear of a child rather than overcoming it.

This book is a great read for anyone, but especially for kids who struggle with anxiety. A perfect spin on the 'what ifs?'.

   Such a sweet book
Our Kora also has her share of worries, this time about a Cora who has her troubles too. It is a lovely book, well worth the purchase. Definitely recommend it.

What a great story, said Blair. This book is a great tool to help children and adults alike. The book was a hit with both my children and their teachers.

   Instant Classic for All Ages!
The book is absolutely amazing. For anyone who has dealt with or does currently suffer from severe anxiety, or does not have severe symptoms, this story is a powerful and positive message on overcoming your inner Whatifs. It's great for any bookshelf, whether kids or adults. The illustration is also out of this world! Wonderful job my author and illustrator, Robert Hein, did!
