   Delightful read
As a child, I read the shortened version and always wanted to read the first edition, the illustrations are so charming. With this being digitally available, my childhood wish came true. I learned new things about this famous story, about the grey life Dorothy used to have and how much she longed for it, and about the psychological issues her three companions had. My only complaint is that some illustrations make the page much more difficult to read because the words have been printed directly on the top.

   The reproduction of this is sorta "meh"...
I bought this because I liked the idea of having an edition with the original illustrations. The illustrations are great, but on the interior and exterior they are of low quality. Also, a lot of the text is overlaid on background that has a 50-60% gray, making some parts difficult to read. The layout for this book, however, should have a class on design basic 101. The story is without question a classic, but the presentation is not awesome.

   Perfect edition for elementary age
This is a classic book with lots of gems and we really enjoyed reading it before watching the movie. My kids actually preferred the book over the movie!

   Nice Book Construction
The book has a nice font and the illustrations are good. The movie has good, happy scenes with the ending giving the audience a fun ending. The book is not what we are thinking today as a children's book.

   Wow!!! I am amazed!
They have the original artwork which is drawn 100 times better than today's. I have bought the whole 14 series of the books. I am in love with this new line of classics, reprinted from the originals. I buy as many as these classics as I can, if they all turn out to be true to the original source.

   very thin paper
I had wanted to use this for an art project, actually... but the paper is very thin, I am sure that the original version had a higher quality paper. However, you would not want to rip the book and the original first edition of this book, so... I guess it is the next best thing. I wish the paper was more substantial.

   Wonderful book!
This version, however, has soooo many more-there are illustrations on every opening. I am very pleased and plan to order more in the same series from the publisher. Good job, Mike!

   Great printing.
The book is in perfect fine condition and he is really enjoying reading the Oz series with his dad. He is very young so that I really wanted to see the illustrations. The happy customer was satisfied.

   Lovely Illustrations on Almost Every Page
I read a chapter or two to my four and half a year old a night. There are enough pictures that she has something to look at while reading, but she has a pretty good attention span. There are some slightly graphic passages that were probably no big deal in 1900, but may be a little intense for those younger children.
