This book was so good! I never read a book that went back and forth between the present and the past and had multiple main characters. It was so freaking good. I couldn’t believe how it ended and how well this author kept me hooked the entire time. Everything was so thorough and there was nothing that left you wishing for more at the end of this book. Highly reccomend

THE MOMENT OF TRUTH…
Derived From Web , Feb 22, 2022
The novel is about a beloved daughter who one day disappears. It is about the effect of her disappearance on her family. Years go by and nothing. She had walked off the face of the earth. A look alike suddenly appears in their lives, and the plot gets more complicated. There are many twists and turns in this novel that will keep the reader turning their pages. The characters are interesting. The writing builds to its moment of truth. I couldn't put it down.

Ending made me so sad
Derived From Web , Feb 18, 2022
I thought I had figured out the book when I was reading it. I went in another direction. There are two parts in the book that made me cry and one of them was the ending. The ending is not the epilogue. It made me sad. I did not want that to happen. I kept expecting something, but at the end I was like that's it. Is it over? I don't know how I would want it to end, but it was let down for some reason. The book needs to be experienced and I still like it. It was blind!

Crazy
Derived From Web , Jun 30, 2021
3.5 stars. A mom is trying to find her daughter. One daughters quest to be found. The book was very twisted and out there. My heart was broken many times. The ending was great. My reader friends give me good recommendations. The entire book felt a little off the mark, but I think my only critique was that it was predictable. The book is original and the story is crazy. There were a few things that caught me off guard. I liked these characters as well. I could see that they were clear. I felt their pain, anger and anguish. I will definitely check out other books by her.

Morbid
Derived From Web , May 17, 2021
I'm a big fan of crime novels. I'm familiar with some of the worst true crime cases in American history. There. The novel is morbid. It was hard to get through. The assault on youthful innocence in this novel may be hard to stomach for some. Proceed with caution. Well written, well progressed. The characters were developed to tell the story. The plot was predictable early on but the details were not. If not for the heavy, heavy content, it would be a 5 star novel. Again, be ready for a rough one.

8/10
Derived From Web , May 12, 2021
This book was not what I thought it would be, but it is still a very good read. I am good at guessing who did what in the general plot of books. I was thrown for a loop by this book. I would spend a lot of time thinking about the characters and the plot while I was at work. It's worth the money. I will likely buy the book again from the same author. It isn't a series book. It is a standalone. I'm usually good at finding errors in printed works. It was written well and thought out. The ink on the print isn't smudge like some books will be and the print isn't too big or small to read. It's easy to hold in one hand. It's light. A light reading is good to keep you thinking.

Good but not great.
Derived From Web , Sep 29, 2020
I'm always looking for books that blow me away and this book isn't one of them. I liked the book, but I didn't love it. It is an easy read, but I didn't like the writing style. I read the whole thing in one day, and it was definitely a page-turner. It was good. I wanted to know the end of the plot. I don't think that should be confused with being great. I didn't like the ending, the writing wasn't my favorite, and I wasn't left wanting more. If I were to read this book again, I wouldn't like it as much. It was enjoyable for a day.

How is this book getting 5 star reviews???
Derived From Web , Aug 27, 2019
I don't know what to do. The subject is rated R in the book. The author has never experienced a traumatic event in her life. I wonder if she did any research prior to attempting this sensitive subject matter, based on the juvenile attempt at a dark story line. I can handle dark and twisted, but I can't handle people who don't care about it. The dialogue was terrible, the characters were amazing, and the ending made me cringe. I felt anger towards the author while reading this book. Two friends lined up to borrow a book from me. I have spared them both. So bad, and not interesting at all.

Very predictable
Derived From Web , Dec 2, 2018
This was the first book by Lisa Jewell that I have read and it will probably be the last one. I love thrillers but this one took me almost by surprise. The book was too dull and depressing to be enjoyed and the suspense was gone. I finished the book to make up for my initial dislike of it at the end.

Disturbing, wish I had NOT read it!!
Derived From Web , Oct 4, 2018
The subject matter is so distressing that I wish I hadn't read it at all. It's written like other books in this genre, but the subject matter is frightening. I have never written a book review on Amazon, but I feel compelled to warn others about this book. When I realized where it was going, I wanted to know how it ended so I kept listening. I wish I hadn't listened to it in the first place because I filled my head with ICKY thoughts.
