Book Overview

This Description may be from another edition of this product.

Thirteen is the legal thriller Lee Child, Michael Connelly, and Ruth Ware are raving about and readers can't put down.

Outstanding - an intriguing premise, a tense, gripping build-up, and a spectacular climax. This guy is the real deal. Trust me. --Lee Child

A dead bang BEAST of a book that expertly combines Cavanagh's authority on the law with an absolutely great thrill ride. Books this ingenious don't come along very often. --Michael Connelly

It's the murder trial of the century. And Joshua Kane has killed to get the best seat in the house - and to be sure the wrong man goes down for the crime. Because this time, the killer isn't on trial. He's on the jury.

But there's someone on his tail. Former-conman-turned-criminal-defense-attorney Eddie Flynn doesn't believe that his movie-star client killed two people. He suspects that the real killer is closer than they think - but who would guess just how close?

A brilliant, twisty, ingeniously constructed puzzle of a book. Steve Cavanagh pulls off an enviable premise with panache. --Ruth Ware

   Legal thriller
Many twists and turns and surprises come through. The end could have been a little slowed to allow for more of an unfolding for the remaining characters, but it was still a thrilling read.

It’s just too good to put down!
This storyline catches you right from the start and you just can 't put it down. I adored it in a weekend I read it so much. If you like legal dramas, this storyline will have you guessing right to the very last page when my jaw dropped the writing is that good. I can usually guess who made it, but I was stuck right to the end. Great!!! There you go!

   Recommend!
Never read this author before, read it as a stand alone book. Finished in 2 days and now I want to read the whole series!

   Exciting
It is very intense ; hard to put it down. The story has lots of twists, you can never know who the killer is really until the end. In some places it is just a little bizarre, which may bother some people.

A fun read but not believable
One quickly gets sucked into this high IQ serial killer that methodically plants evidence to implicate others and then gets himself seated on juries rendering verdicts on these very crimes in an attempt to persuade jurors in a falsely accused defendant. The high scale jinks become too involved to be believable-but still it is a fun read.

   Sounded Good in Theory
For me, this is too much fiction. Just a way to far out there to be even kind of believable. I kept reading it to comment on my S.O. How completely and utterly implausible was this story? The writing was not terrible. But this was not my cup of tea just yet.

   Close To Five Stars
Good read, but just a few too many times where it was hard to suspend my disbelief, as Stephen King says. I read more Eddie Flynn novels, definitely.

   Unique Mystery
Cavanagh read first and enjoyed it very much. A unique experience. Your attention will keep on. Will probably read another. Good for criminal lawyers!

   Disappointed in book
I enjoyed this book until there was a comment about who the president was. Maybe you read all the types of people remembered. I won 't read another one of this author's books. Not hear the same things we get from the media everyday.
