Fans of acclaimed author Kendare Blake's Anna Dressed in Blood will devour Three Dark Crowns, a dark and inventive fantasy about three sisters who must fight to the death to become queen. And don't miss the highly anticipated sequel, One Dark Throne

In every generation on the island of Fennbirn, a set of triplets is born: three queens, all equal heirs to the crown and each possessor of a coveted magic. Mirabella is a fierce elemental, able to spark hungry flames or vicious storms at the snap of her fingers. Katharine is a poisoner, one who can ingest the deadliest poisons without so much as a stomachache. Arsinoe, a naturalist, is said to have the ability to bloom the reddest rose and control the fiercest of lions.

But becoming the Queen Crowned isn't solely a matter of royal birth. Each sister has to fight for it. And it's not just a game of win or's life or death. The night the sisters turn sixteen, the battle begins. The last queen standing gets the crown.

Be sure to catch the stunning sequel to this New York Times bestseller, One Dark Throne.

The different points of view, the shared story lines. It's like you know all the characters truly. The queens are told beautifully. And the ending was surprising and suspenseful.
Okay, give this book a chance. It was a slow start, I started to question the hype surrounding this book. When i say i am glad i kept reading, i mean it. I was caught in the book by some of these plot twists off the guard. It was indeed an original idea for a book. i bought the second book after finishing the book.
   Pretty Good
If you are a book worm and love to live in the adventure of stories, then get THIS BOOOOK XD for the love of all the hades.
The story has a few interesting possibilities, but the writing is so poor that it is hard to finish. The author needs to distinguish more between the main characters, who all seem to be the same, along with their insipid boyfriends. She also needs to decide if the language and technology are modern in this fantasy world, as the characters say, think on it and wear gowns and draw water, but also has indoor plumbing and a corner bookstore and say : Don 't be paranoid.
I enjoyed reading this book very much ''. The next one I will buy. The political rivalries are fierce :
   Tedious and confusing
Firstly, the book is written in an odd pov, which makes it difficult to read. For me, at least. There are also too many characters. I can not remember one from the other. Third, it goes on and on while nothing really happens. I don 't know the point of the story ''. I am only 13 in and can hardly go on. It is tumbling, confusing and I have to force myself to keep reading. It feels like it is cliche and depressing, just to hit some dark YA check list. I'm tired of the lately-complex torture and dreariness of YA, and this one doesn't even have a good story. When reading a book is a chore, you know that it is not for you.
I think the characters are very well developed, they ...
I think the characters are very well defined, they all have different traits that are developed by the place they grew up in. And the author keeps it as real as possible, not searching for the romantic approach, but the real one. What I noticed was the way the characters reacted to the situations they were presented with was coherent with the place they grew up in and it made sense.
   Wonderful read.
If it weren't for the full world and writing, I would give this a few stars out of five. It was a great premise and has a ton of promise for the next book, but I wished the author had spent more time developing it all!
   Entertaining until the end!
I am extremely happy that I decided to take a chance on her ''. This book was written well with twists and turns throughout.
