   teaching perseverance
This was more than simply an interesting story dating back some 60 years, but provided me a wonderful lesson on perseverance, determination to succeed, overcoming every obstacle and teamwork. She also learned the necessity for good planning beyond a walk in the park.

Informative, engaging, great beginning chapter book
I bought this book together with several others because of its high interest theme for my son, who is very capable, but sometimes a reluctant reader. He became quickly caught up in the story and read it in two sittings. I am impressed with the content of the book, which lacks any important information for any young person curious about the pursuit of Mt. Everest is the oldest. Drawings and photographs are also appealing. The bottom line for us is to keep him interested with good material, which easily accomplished this book. He is looking forward to more.

   Great books for 4th graders
These I bought for my fourth grade grandson to read for homeschooling. They are a little difficult for him, but it works for him because he has ADHD and these books really keep him interested.

   Interesting and easy to read/comprehend
My child loved her. It provides good concepts and is described in a way that a young child can understand. I enjoyed reading this book with my child.
