Downloaded for kindle fire, pictures are TINY
Derived From Web , May 23, 2022
Book is a nice one! I wish I could see it on the kindle fire! I think the price point should be.99 cents for a download of a book that reads about 3-4 inches across on my 9 inch screen. It is only about 10 pages in total, I think this was way too much for a book I can only see. The point of the book for us was to read to our son, but I am so disappointed to learn that not only are VERY few kid's books available for the kindle fire, but they are often like this teeny tiny, no matter how you turn the screen and sometimes take 40% of the screen. I'm sure that this book is great in person, but when I read it 4 inches wide, with all the business of dogs and scenes, it is not fantastic.

Kindle Edition Disappointing
Derived From Web , May 23, 2022
I thought I would download a few for my Kindle app for IPad for an upcoming road trip. The pages are nothing but prominent color scans of the book, and you can even see mediocre center lines! The text is too small to read comfortably and, very confusingly, the title of the book appears at the top of every page, as if it were a novel. I am going to ask for my money back and think twice before downloading any children's books again. This was so poorly translated. I hope the technique can improve in time, because the iPad would be a great medium for children's books when traveling.

I love this Dog Book!
Derived From Web , May 23, 2022
I may have to order another copy soon because my students have loved this book almost to death! On a level it is very simple, teaching-er and -est and some rhyming adjectives. On another level, there is the story of a man who grills. When he discovers that they have eaten all his food, he shouts Doggies, get out! '' All dogs run away, except for the smallest of the small who grabs the last scrap of food and leaves, exclaiming Woof! I don 't mind reading this book a hundred times a day!

Would not recommend, not first reader level.
Derived From Web , Jul 26, 2021
We have several first readers who step into reading books and this is terrible. The majority of other books at this level focus on sight words. This book is filled with unusual words and phrases. “Sprinkly Dog â€, “Floppy Dog â€. There is a similar book called Too Many Cats '', which I highly recommend... it's cute, has several words and colors.

Excellent first readers
Derived From Web , Oct 27, 2020
I have placed 5 titles, including The Amazing Planet Earth, Too Many Dogs, Too Many Cats, and Rocket and the Perfect Pumpkin. All 5 are carefully written to reinforce phonetic sight words, basic patterns and word families like color words. The quality of the paper and the print is excellent and the pictures are beautiful and provide clues to new words. There is a big jump in skill required between step 1 and step 2, so that exposure to a variety of books step 1 will probably lead to a more successful transition to more complex language, vocabulary and length in step 2.

One of the better easy readers
Derived From Web , Sep 20, 2020
We had purchased the cats version before this and when I realized that they made a dog edition, I also purchased that one. There isn't quite as much repetition as some of these books have, but the vocabulary is easy for beginners and the images do a fine job when they are clued in reading. My early 3 reader can relay this book after a few rounds. It is funny, exciting and engaging. I have no complaints about this reader.

Great beginner book for kids who love dogs!
Derived From Web , Jul 19, 2020
One of my first books to read is my daughter's favorite. This one doesn 't have much of a story - just has 2-3 words on a page. A very beginner - reader book. Excellent for starting out, especially if your children love dogs!

Not really a level 1
Derived From Web , Jun 2, 2020
I don 't really agree with this book as it is for Pre-K-Kindergarten. There aren 't very many sight words, just a number of different types of dogs. It does rhyme, which is better than nothing, but I use books like these to supplement sight words and my child did not know most of these words except the title and the dog.

My son loves this book
Derived From Web , Sep 14, 2017
My younger son loves this book, there aren 't too many words on the pages and words are repeatitive, so it is easy to catch and he gets excited to be able to read them. I even bought the cats '' version ; he loves them both.
