   High quality work
A good book. I had the pleasure of taking several courses with Mr. Rezendes, who explained to me what I needed to look for. Before he can say that something was caused by a particular creature, he has to know the creator of the animal sign. The new edition of the book has charts which make it easier to check your own findings. With high quality production values, you can use it as a very effective field guide. Most of the photographs taken by Mr. Rezendes are wonderful. You will be able to identify the animals found in the US because he's traveled a lot. My original book was lost a number of years ago. I don't have an excuse for not picking it up sooner.

Tracking and the Art of Seeing: How to Read Animal Tracks and Sign
The book covers tracks, but also discusses other signs and the animals' behaviors that could provide important clues. A lot of good pictures of the animals and their signs are provided in the book, but it is too short to go into much detail. The format of the book is more suited for browsing than for use as a quick reference, and there is no mention of some western favorites such as the PIKA and Mountain Goats.

Great book from a great tracker
Tracking and the Art of Seeing is a good book to read. Someone borrowed my earlier book and never returned it, so I purchased this book. The book offers great photographs of animal signs, such as chewed acorns and seeds. I learned how to tell the difference between a squirrel and a chipmunk. The book is a great resource for anyone who wants to improve their tracking skills.

   The best wildlife tracking guide
The photos of the animals' feet were wonderful. There are photos of their feet. I was not expecting that, and it was lovely. It gives more detail so that the descriptions and other photos make sense. The book is a bit emotional so far. It shows a lot of respect for these animals and it took a long time to assemble all these photographs. I'm fortunate to have found this.

Great information. Heads up on its delivery style
Everyone agrees that this is a good book with lots of information. The information is presented more in a ' conversational' style than in a encylopedia style. If you' re looking for a traditional ' field guide' style with color- coded cross- references and the like, you may want to look elsewhere. This one is for you if you don't mind a more casual presentation of the information. You would be more likely to pick up this book for casual reading than a traditional field guide.

Experience author explains marks in snow
If you want to figure out what animal made the tracks, this is the book for you. It helps you to figure out what animal it was even if you can't see the tracks due to the deep fluffy snow because you have holes in the snow. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to know more about the animals in our world.

Important Book if You Love Nature, Conservation & Photography
If you love nature and appreciate being in the quiet woods, this is a good book to own. As a photographer, Paul learned how to read animal signs to find and photograph wildlife. He earned a living as a wildlife photographer because of this knowledge. He shares his knowledge in the book. You will refer to the book again and again because it is well written, factual and filled with great illustrations. As a photographer, nature lover, and member of KeepingTrack. org who spends a lot of time in the woods, I believe that this important reference book should be included in every photographer's collection. I would love to go for a field day with Paul. I own most of his books.

LOVE THE BOOK - BUT PAGES FALLING OUT AFTER 1 week of use
I'm disappointed that the pages are falling out because this is an amazing book, but I need to see about getting it spiral bound.

   excellent
Everything about this book is wonderful! It gives clear, concise, detailed information, not only about tracks, but also habits, habitats, diet, and many other observations and facts. The book does work on several books. Everyone who is interested in tracking should own this guide, but also anyone who is just interested in reading signs of life in the wood. I think children will find it easy to understand.
