Work with your triggers to find peace in the painful moments and lasting emotional well-being.
Psychotherapist David Richo examines the science of triggers and our reactions of fear, anger, and sadness. He helps us understand why our bodies respond before our minds have a chance to make sense of a situation. By looking deeply at the roots of what provokes us--the words, actions, and even sensory elements like smell--we find opportunities to understand the origins of our triggers and train our bodies to remain calm in the face of painful memories. The book offers in-the-moment exercises on how to process difficult emotions and physical manifestations in order to to cultivate the inner resources necessary to deal with recurring memories of trauma. When we are triggered, Richo writes, we are being bullied by our own unfinished business. Explore what your body's knee-jerk reactions can teach you. Triggers: How We Can Stop Reacting and Start Healing acts as a guide to your body's powerful responses, helping you to remain calm under pressure and discover the key to emotional healing. It takes about 4 Hours and 6 minutes on average for a reader to read Triggers: How We Can Stop Reacting And Start Healing. This is based on the average reading speed of 250 Words per minute.
Triggers: How We Can Stop Reacting And Start Healing is 200 pages long.
Not for Real People with Real Problems
Derived From Web , Aug 19, 2020
If you are a fan of psych-lite, for people who are free of actual problems, Dave Richo is the author for you! If you have suffered any kind of actual trauma, this book will not help. It is accepted and dismissed in a phrase, unless you have been abused as a child... and Richo goes on from there. If you have suffered a natural attack, war, sexual disaster, racism, ablism, or anything other than an occasional bad break -- this book is useless. This assessment applies as well to every other book of his that I have encountered.

Really well-written, thorough and uplifting book. Despite the good topic, the author does a great job of being encouraging and hopeful. Highly recommended, especially for parents of little children dealing with the triggers of parenthood. , ''

Great resource on understanding ourselves
Derived From Web , Apr 20, 2020
Self - Mirroring is an incredible rich resource. It helps you to stop blaming your peers, partner or parents by turning your knowledge upside down about yourself. At the end, it can get a little fuzzy. The truth is that I know very little about Buddhism to judge properly. The fact that this loving-kindness has caused some ridicule in me, is a sign that I need to work on this department. I learned this book after reading it. Power : Read power and force. Although a practical book about sitting with your pain '', there is no great component. This book breaks this with great practical tips to help you find solace in the things we can not change and have the courage to change the things we can. David, thank you for your eloquent words.

Another great book by one of the greatest teachers of our time
Derived From Web , Dec 11, 2019
Another great book by one of our greatest teachers is another great teacher. As with his other books, it is very organized, in depth, a wealth of information to learn. It is not a book that you could read straight through like a Kindle. It is a book that you would read a few paragraphs then stop to reflect on and underline the important information. Reading it is like speaking to my soul.
