The troubleshooting tools are free, but the book written by the software engineers is essential.
Troubleshooting with Windows Sysinternals Tools is an extensive instructional reference manual that provides detailed instructions for using a toolbox full of free apps on the Microsoft website. The book is well written and very detailed not only in the description of each tool and what it is used for, but also provides an expansive explanation of how to interpret each tool and how to use the results, which will lead to a solution. The authors of the book are software engineers that have developed the apps. The reference also lends itself to those who want to gain more knowledge about the Microsoft Operating System.

I enjoyed reading it from what I was able to print, I purchased the book and would like to print out certain portions to make notes and use for reversal, but I can 't save the book or print it. Why did I purchase it when I can not print or save it! I have tried to use the book, but not so far due to this limitation.
This book is loaded with good information. I bought to try to solve a ...
I bought Windows 10 to try to solve a problem that occurred during a Windows 10 update. I found what I need now, now I have to put it into practice. I am now looking forward to using other features in Sysinternals Tools, also that I have a very good guide to get me started.
   In-depth information.
I had to give this book 5 stars even though I really don 't LOVE it as it is way over my expertise.
Great Introduction for the Windows Internals books using various SysInternals tools.
Not only does Russinovich explain how to use certain tools, but he goes into a primer on Windows internals, such as how processes are created. I would say that this is an introduction to his books on Windows Internals. Before trying to read this book, read this book before trying to get into any of the Windows Internals series, as it might give you some visual context from the SysInternals tools when you read the much more advanced and in-depth books.
Extremely useful whether you are a sysadmin or developer
Whether you are a sysadmin or a developer is extremely useful. Really explore the internals of Windows by grok them in a hands on way.
Worth reading just for the pure joy of doing so.
Another detailed book by Guru. Quite technical, as you would expect, but surprisingly easy to read. It is almost worth reading just to be reading for recreation. It is currently on my coffee table, so I just pick it up and read a random chapter. It is that good and interesting, even if I never have to use it in anger.
