A difficult year filled with loss and heartache leaves Allison Scott withdrawn and emotionally disconnected. When she is finally ready to move forward with her life, she embarks on a getaway vacation to Miami, determined to find healing from the painful memories in her past. Damien Wales also has a tragic past that has left him a cold and distant person. However, the moment he sees Allison, he's inexplicably drawn to her, and he is a man who will stop at nothing to get what he wants. A sunset stroll brings the two together. Allison feels an undeniable attraction to Damien, but she's hesitant to get close to anyone. Damien will do everything he can to keep Allison in his life, but his overprotective and domineering demeanor might just push her away. When Damien's dark past begins to collide with his present, Allison's life is put in danger. Damien must keep her safe, but some things are just out of his control. This is a good story. Peter Leonard's stories are fun to read because of his interesting characters. I' ve prepared all his books and he keeps improving. I have read all of the books by Peter. Trust me, I kept my interest.

Leonard lives!
Derived From Web , Oct 4, 2020
Peter's Dad was my favorite crime fiction author. I was skeptical that anyone, even a blood relation, could fill his shoes. I hesitated before trying one of Peter's books, but now am so engrossed and entertained that comparisons are no longer relevant. Great reads are made from the crackling dialogue, absorbing characters and realistic plots. His Dad would be happy.

The Leonard legacy is in great hands
Derived From Web , Aug 27, 2020
Great writing can be traced back to the Leonard family. Peter Leonard has the same skill as his father. Trust Me is a quirky crime story that holds up well in all of Elmore Leonard's novels.

Good try
Derived From Web , May 15, 2019
The story telling approach used by his father has been adopted by Peter Leonard. He isn't as good at character development as he could be. When compared to Elmore Leonard's writing, using a character's past experiences to enhance the character and move the plot forward is a little clumsy and sometimes superfluous. As far as the story goes, it moves along, but jumping between the here and now with one character to the here and now with another character is a little confusing. The way the story develops depends on some things. It's an ok read, but not a page turner like most of Elmore's writings.

Couldn't put the book down. It is a crime drama but it is similar to the movie " it's a mad, mad world" There is a female main character.

The crime story is great. The old man would be happy. I hope there's more to come from Peter Leonard. It's peace.
