An essential grad gift that's truly unlike any other book geared towards college students.
Derived From Web , Apr 23, 2021
I bought this book as a graduation gift for my youngest cousin and ended up buying another copy for myself, because I was so impressed with the content. Historically, I went to Dr. Google when I needed answers for something medical... and then turned down the well...I guess this means I am dying on the road. This book will be a safeguard against panic and anxiety related to health and wellness for students who have a copy with them at college... or adults who bought a copy for themselves. ) Dr. Grimes is also super unpretentious and explains things in a warm, friendly and non-judgemental way. She's like the cool doctor aunt you wish you had, so that you could call when you felt like crap and she could tell you what to do about it. Stop reading this review and buying a copy of this is an essential grad gift that's truly geared towards college students, unlike any other book geared towards college students.

Excellent Read for any parent and student on their own!
Derived From Web , Aug 4, 2020
Dr. Grimes has once again put practical health information in a format that is not only easy to read, but also succinct, knowledgeable, and useful for both students and parents! Practical tips and information about the topic, including what to expect if you need to seek higher care. This book is a must include three of my own trips to college, and is a must include on the packing list! And speaking of the packing checklist for packing a health care kit for college is a tremendous asset, especially in current times with all the precautions surrounding the COVID 19 crisis. On a side note, the illustrations by her daughter make the book even more entertaining! Love that her passion for improving health care management of our future generation is becoming a family affair!

Your college kids will be glad to own this book...and you'll be glad they have it
Derived From Web , Jul 29, 2020
You may get a raised eyebrow when you give this book to your college kid first. But if yours are like mine, when they start flipping through the book, they will find an interesting tidbit about what to do when. And then they find another. They will start reading an excerpt to give you. They may even admit loud that they are glad that you gave it to them. It is a book that they can stick in a drawer for when they drink too much, or break a tooth if they need to see a doctor. This book is well organized, easy to understand and gives real advice that children can use. As a parent, I am glad to know that if they can't or won 't call me, they will have some solid advice to help them deal with illnesses, injuries and health issues that may come up.

Best high school graduate gift you can give!
Derived From Web , Jul 19, 2020
I read it before I gave it as a gift and quickly realized that I should have bought a case of these! The Ultimate College Student Health Handbook, Your Guide to Everything from Hangovers to Homesickness, is an easy, interesting guidebook that can be used by anyone to understand common health emotional issues and challenges that one can experience when they leave home to go to college or when they move out and straight into the workforce. It is written by a medical professional who has put together topics we see and read about everyday. In addition to the illustrations, the formatting of the chapters makes it friendly for the reader.

Fantastic book for any teen heading out into the world
Derived From Web , May 21, 2020
As a mother of teens and as a doctor who treats them, I find that there are two types of children at this age : those who think they know more than their parents and adults around them, and those who think they know nothing, and the adults know everything. This book is a must-have for both teen types. Broken down by chapters based on body part and a given problem, each chapter offers prevention tips, treatment tips and tips on when it is time to call in the troops. Written in a way that is engaging, informative and highly practical, college kids, grad school students, and even young adults away from home for the first time will refer to this gem on a regular basis.

This is a GREAT gift for graduating high school seniors, and for those already in College.
Derived From Web , May 11, 2020
I love this book ''. As a mother to a college and a soon-to-be college student, I have to say that the book covers just about everything I would want my children to have access to when they are not with me, and then some! What a well written resource geared towards our children who don 't read a book, but look things up as they come up. This book makes this easy. And after my son rolled his eyes at this gift, I saw him stop through it and then flip a section on something. This was a win for a teen in the world of parenting. I highly recommend this book as a reference for any teenager adult who moved away from home for any reason.

A Must Have for College Students
Derived From Web , May 8, 2020
I was looking for just the right medical information book to give my graduation from high school and college. I wanted to access medical information easily. It is very easy to understand and very relatable. At least, not difficult reading. I am going to keep a copy for our house and this will be a gift from me. I ordered it first when I saw it on Amazon. I am so glad that I did.
