For an in depth view of the Earth Sciences it is very good!

I would have to go back to school to get through a book on Geology that wasn't so technical. This book is well written. It's technical, but not obscure. It is very good for an in depth look at the Earth Sciences.

I have a background in biological science and have always wanted to find a way to get up to speed on geology, because so much of evolutionary biology references geology. I have read a number of Internet readings on geology. I learnt a lot from these. A whole new understanding opens up before me when I start to read the book ' Understanding Earth'. I like this book for its simple and comprehensive explanations and its coloured cross sectional representations which make me feel like I'm right there on the spot. I'm halfway through the book and I think I' ll be able to base my biology on it if I finish it.

I bought this book for my class. There are glossy pages and colorful pictures in the book. The 5 th edition is just as good as the 6 th edition, has the same number of pages, and is a lot cheaper, according to my professor. I was very happy to be able to purchase an excellent used copy of this for a very low price and receive it in the mail very quickly. This was a perfect transaction. I buy most of my college books from Amazon and I am very happy with them. Thank you for understanding the Earth!
