A no-nonsense and helpful guide on how to cope with a slew of mental-health issues that are hellbent on ruining the lives of millions of people worldwide.
Our brains do their best to help us out, but every so often they can be real assholes--having melt downs, getting addicted to things, or shutting down completely at the worst possible moments. Your brain knows it's not good to do these things, but it can't help it sometimes--especially if it's obsessing about trauma it can't overcome. That's where this life-changing book comes in. With humor, patience, science, and lots of good-ole swearing, Dr. Faith explains what's going on in your skull, and talks you through the process of retraining your brain to respond appropriately to the non-emergencies of everyday life, and to deal effectively with old, or newly acquired, traumas (particularly post-traumatic stress disorder). The recommended reading level for Unfuck Your Brain: Using Science To Get Over Anxiety, Depression, Anger, Freak-Outs, And Triggers is 9th Grade and Up .

This book is everything. It explains a lot in the first few pages. The author's book will do just fine, even though I wish I could find a therapist like her. Thank you! It's!

It definitely doesn't cuss every other word. The sense of humor is dark and real. The book was perfect. It's!

More than what I expected

The book was more than I anticipated. My marriage was looking like it would never recover as I was dealing with anxiety and depression. My life isn't fixed after reading this book, but I have a lot to say to my therapist.

Rubbish
Derived From Web , Jun 14, 2019
The author uses a lot of profanity and mid-90s teen slang. It's hard to read about a serious subject that is filled with childish writing. It's time to stop being cool.

Making Simple Understandings of the Complex
Derived From Web , Apr 24, 2019
One of the best books I have read is about grief and anxiety. It's written in a way that's tangible. I sent several quotes to friends and family after I found the parts I was looking for. I highlighted a specific color for my husband to read. This book is very good.

KUDOS to Dr Faith
Derived From Web , Dec 17, 2018
Dr Faith has found a way to reach the youth crowd with knowledge and entertaining writing. I enjoy her views on addiction. First treat the cause, then discover a replacement activity and let go of the addiction. Ahead of her time. She should expand her section on treating depression. I was able to stay with this style of writing for much longer than I could have if she had written in more traditional prose.
