Book Overview

One of America's most highly acclaimed chefs gives us more than 150 simple recipes and techniques for imaginative vegetable cooking at home.

Gramercy Tavern's Executive Chef Michael Anthony believes a cook's job is to create delicious flavors and healthy meals. Written for the home cook, and featuring both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, V is for Vegetables celebrates the act of cooking vegetables he loves. Anthony shows how unlocking the secrets of vegetables can be as simple as roasting a beet, de-knobbing a Jerusalem artichoke, peeling a gnarly celery root, slicing a bright radish, washing a handful of just-picked greens.

V is for Vegetables is personal, accessible, and beautiful. Its charming A to Z format celebrates vegetables in richly detailed illustrations, glorious food photographs, and lots of helpful how to do it techniques. Recipes include crispy composed salads, fresh herb sauces, satisfying warm gratins, vibrant stews, simple saut ed greens over a bowl of grains, and veggies with meat and fish, too.

V is for Vegetables delivers the tools to transform and conquer the vegetables in a CSA basket, from the farmers market, and even the grocery store. It is an eye-opening book for vegetarians and omnivores alike.

Not the same old same old.
I 'd gotten bored with cooking the same old and decided that I wanted a cookbook with a wide variety of easy, tasty recipes. I'm very pleased with my choice ''.

Great recipe ideas without the crazy ingredients
So far, I have enjoyed all the recipes I made from this book. I actually like the avocado yoghurt with Lime Mash ''. I even made it for a pot luck at work and was pleasantly surprised by it. I believe that they said it was flavorful and refreshing, which is definitely!

   Deceptively simple with great results!
I don 't get very hopeful before trying new recipes in this book. The ingredient list looks too short and the method too simple to be that great, but every time I am wrong! These recipes are delicious. Pan-roasted asparagus with sunny-side eggs is a beloved superfast brunch or dinner, bribery pasta a fun favorite. The roasted Brussels sprouts with maple syrup, baked sweet potato fries and pan-fried fingerlings garner rave reviews, which means a lot considering how common these dishes are. If you want to eat more vegetables, this book is perfect for learning how to make delicious meals that are a joy to eat.

   Contains pork. :)
Bunny is good for beginners, but not enough recipes for some vegetables. There is, for example, only one for broccoli. I would say that there could be more recipes for such a popular and healthy product. Also, some recipes are made with bacon or pork that I do not eat and consider unhealthy. I hoped that this would be a vegetarian book ''. In all, it is more about pictures and design than information.
