The book took a while to arrive, and when it did, there seemed to be a bite mark on the spine. In their description of the book, they said that it was in excellent condition, so that they did not expect a bite mark to be on the cover. Other than a little damage to the covers, the book is fine and still readable.

   Love Them
I loved these books as a kid and I give them to my friends as gifts from time to time. Everyone agrees that the stories are funny, entertaining and easy to read. Getting young kids hooked on a long series like this is a great way to promote lifelong reading. Shipping was also extremely fast.

   Great beginner books
My daughter came home with a later book in the series and we liked it so much that we bought a couple of them. She read it to me out loud and was absolutely adorable. It was a perfect beginning chapter book and one of the few series books that boys and girls would enjoy. She had a couple of words she was not sure about, but that is to be expected from any book, after all, she is still building her vocabulary. A quick explanation of a word was all that was needed and we could continue. The book had enough pictures to still be fun, but not so many that she felt like reading a baby book. The best part of the series is that you don 't have to go in order. We read number 20 first and had no problems figuring out who was who and what was going on, and were able to go back to number 1 without being ruined.

   Students enjoy it
They are gifted second and third graders, but I feel the level is good enough for second and third graders, gifted or not. They relish the mystery and find out if she is a vampire.

   Nostalgia
I read this book for my 6 year old niece because I received it when I was 9 and loved it! I will probably read it again from her to borrow.
