   I wanted to like it
If you read educational books frequently, this will be nothing new to you. Yes, it has effective strategies for teaching some parts of balanced literacy, but nothing could be provided for a quick Google search. I was hoping for a book that went more in depth on a few topics than skim the surface of many topics. I really wanted to like this book, but I felt like there was not much new information except for figuring out the efficacy of your teaching method.

Nothing groundbreaking, but nonetheless helpful. I made use of the teacher - effect - calculation strategy that is in the back of the book. When talking with staff about what impact different decisions are going to have.

In addition to its own teaching and tutoring information, so much great practical information is available for teachers. I have found many strategies for increased student success.

Book is great! Hattie 2012 integration was good for Hattie. Pages 170 or so. Online templates are available.

If you teach this book, it will make you think about every lesson you teach. The next year our school focuses on everything that this book talks about.
