Book Overview

  • The world we knew is gone. The world of commerce and frivolous necessity has been replaced by a world of survival and responsibility. An epidemic of apocalyptic proportions has swept the globe, causing the dead to rise and feed on the living. In a matter of months society has crumbled: no government, no grocery stores, no mail delivery, no cable TV. In a world ruled by the dead, the survivors are forced to finally start living.
  • This volume follows our band of survivors as they set up a permanent camp inside a prison. Relationships change, characters die, and our team of survivors learn there's something far more deadly than zombies out there: each other.

   Surprisingly Compelling
I love horror and I started young thanks to my elder sister. Since seeing the night of the living dead more than 30 years ago, zombies, the infected, the walking dead, the undead, whatever you call them, have been among my favorite aspects of horror. I have never been an avid reader of comic books or graphic novels, however. Vol. I bought it. I thought I finished the first and thought, ehhh. Not as original, as I hoped. I devoured all 10 volumes in a short order. Vol. I can hardly wait for . DecJan was due out in 11. I tried several other zombie comics, etc. to try to soothe my cravings. No substitutes accepted.
A new revelation is added to this zombie virus outbreak story
Trusting known convicts still living behind those walls, not so much... With that said, Volume 3 was still a lot of fun. The best plot point in this volume was by far the revelation that you don 't need to be bitten by a zombie to become a zombie. Apparently, all living humans have some sort of zombie disease that kicks in after they die. As far as I can remember, I never heard of this idea in a zombie story. In conclusion, the mysterious identity of the headless seemed obvious to me.
for some reason these stopped working on my Kindle fire ...
For some reason, these stopped working on my first Kindle Fire edition... They did when I bought them, and then stopped just. I am kind of upset about that '', as I am a hardcore WD fan. I gave them 5 stars because its not Amazon's fault that I had to read them once before they took it away again, especially since they DID work before anyone jumps in on them.
After watching the Walking Dead TV series, I picked up this comic book. The graphic novel offers a few points of departure from the film. The characters are deeper in the film and more developed. The plot is developed better in the graphic novel. The novel has the atmosphere and a sense of abandonment of the film, but the book lacks a better characterization of the characters'past lives. If I like one, I would compliment the other because they check out each other.
   Must-have comic
That said, I caution you against ordering this book, or probably any comic book, through Amazon Prime. I bought this book with several other purchases, one of which was quite large, but all of my purchases were shipped in the same box. The comic was free to move within the box, so that by the time it arrived the book had been bent and a cover was ripped from banging into the other contents of the box. If you are a prime customer, I recommend either purchasing this item by itself or using only other books, so that the item is less likely to be damaged in shipping.
   Woo! Walking Dead time :D
I am a huge fan of the Walking Dead books and the show. I would definitely recommend all books for any walking dead fan.
   Big Fan
This is one of the first comics I ever read and I really enjoyed it.
My son said that they were in great shape. He enjoyed reading this series very much and can not wait until 18 comes out.
   Better than the show.
Beast Beast Beast Beast Beast Beast Beast Beast Beast and a very very very very very very animal-landing center and ending with a very very very very very much.
   A gift
By all accounts, this is a perfect gift for anyone who is a fan of the walking dead. I have not watched it, but I read the television show AMC.
