Short but powerful

This book is tiny like 48 pages tiny. More like half that because the book is small as a booklet. Despite its size, the message is very important and powerful.

This was recommended by a young friend in her first year of college. I decided to pick it up and I was able to read through it while enjoying my morning coffee. Its not long, but rather thought-provoking. I enjoyed it. ''

Every thought I’ve had put into words
Derived From Web , Jan 13, 2022
It is crazy to me that a person who can create life, love deeply, work hard and maintain sanity is seen as weaker or less than based on gender. Every thought I had was included in this book, a quick read and beautifully strung together. being equal is not better and does not take away from anyone. It is what should have and needs to be just.

great short speech
Valeria G , Jul 21, 2021
This is a short little book that is basically the author's TED talk but with more added. It is like I said short so it is concise and to the point, I think this would be a good introduction to give to someone who thinks feminism is hating all men and burning bras.

"The language of marriage is often a language of ownership, not a language of partnership."
Derived From Web , Mar 31, 2020
The author articulated so well the language around feminism. During my growing up years, from the 60s to now, she centered the mindset on feminism effectively, during my growing up years, from the 60s to now. I remember blending in with feminist ideas and reading the works of many prominent AA writers and building confidence, self-esteem and positive energy. Nevertheless, I met the negative aspects of feminism, which the author clearly articulated in this vintage short novel, against the opposition. Excellent!

A Message about Equality for Us All
Derived From Web , Feb 1, 2019
We Should All Be Feminists by Adichie is a written version of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's Tedx Talk about how women's equality lifts and supports whole communities. I enjoyed her talk so much that I wanted to read it in written form so that I could ponder it and keep it on my shelves for references at my convenience. We Should All Be Feminists drives home the point about how men's rights are as important as women's rights. Adichie explores the myriad variations of inequality and beliefs about feminism. We Should all be feminists demystifies the idea of feminism and explains how feminism benefits everyone.

Teeny Tiny Important Book
Derived From Web , Nov 27, 2018
teeny tiny, short book -- very teeny tiny - maybe 4 x 3? It does not much matter bc the price was right and is an excerpt of one of her Ted Talks. Buy great, but more importantly, so critical we all read and get it.

Beyond Gender
Derived From Web , Oct 28, 2018
I am a baby boomer, educated by World War II veterans and descendant of Buffalo soldiers, from a Eurocentric perspective that might be right. It then doesn 't get any macho. By the mid 60s, I was introduced to nonviolence - civil disobedience and passive resistance, between Malcolm and Martin searching for manhood. Living within a strong black community, where the lines between patriarchal and matriarchal cultures are blared because men and women worked and shared in the administration of the church, school, and home. But during the Black Power movement it became clear that women were expected to assume a supporting role. The Feminist movement was a wakeup call since then my wife and my daughter have kept me informed and made sure I understand what needs to be changed. I am a lifelong student and this book is part of my education, which began with bell hooks and continues.
