This was a great book and provided me with a new view of Laura Ingalls that I had not previously known. Like many others, I grew up with the Little House series after receiving Little House In The Big Woods as a Christmas present when I was six. I quickly read through all the others in the series, which was quite a few years before the TV series. The series started off. I really like to see this side of Rose and her daughter, Laura. Even if one had not read all of the Little House books, they would still find this book enjoyable. It also offers a wonderful education of life in San Francisco and other areas of California during the early 1900s. I even plan on rereading it, just as I did all the other Little House books and highly recommend that other Laura Ingalls fans add this book to their collections.

Laura's letters to Almanzo from San Francisco in 1915 on a trip to visit daughter Rose
Derived From Web , May 31, 2022
This is an interesting book with lots of pictures taken when Laura goes to visit her daughter Rose in San Francisco during the World Fair of 1915. As Laura sends letters back home to Almanzo, we get an inside look at their close relationship. We learn about Laura's hope to write for a newspaper and her interaction with Rose, who tries to critique her writing. This is a good read and helps to discover how quickly the United States has changed in a few years.

It is interesting to see how Laura Ingalls actually wrote before she was edited by Rose. But I am a Laura Ingalls Wilder fan, it was just very interesting to see her in such a different light.

Enjoyable read

It made me feel like I was there at the San Francisco World Fair in 1915. And the image of Laura Ingalls Wilder crossing Market Street and avoiding automobiles is funny because we know her mainly from the Little House show, which was before cars. I should add that while this is probably a book geared towards young readers, don 't let that deter you. It is also an enjoyable read for adults.

Little House on the Prairie is one of my favorite book series of my daughter. She also enjoyed other series like The Caroline Years. I discovered this title only recently and purchased it for her 14th birthday.
