I'd highly recommend for kids over 5

Very detailed and informative book that helped me tell my 5 and 7 year old that we have a baby. A little too long and drawn out for my 5 year old so she would eventually pay attention, but it made my 7 year old ask more questions so she learned a lot and couldn 't stop talking about it. She even carried the book for a couple of days to read it and start more conversation about pregnancy. Awesome book to have, but I think that children under 5 would be easily bored and confused by it. Words like sperm and Vagina popped up and my husband and I gave each other a shocked look as my daughter read. I don 't think we were ready to discuss this type of detail, but it was educational none the less.

Fulfills the title's expectations
Derived From Web , May 30, 2022
I bought this to read to my four-year-old while I was pregnant. It's very in-depth and reads more like a textbook than a story. At the beginning of my pregnancy, it appeared too easy, but proved to be more useful at the end. It was more appropriate for the more serious questions that are naturally generated when you get huge. I felt that it really helped my kiddo to understand what was happening and what to expect.

Five Stars

Very informative, but not too overly anatomical, as some of the others I have seen.

Too advanced for a 2 1/2 yr old
Derived From Web , May 30, 2022
The delivery was fast as always, but my low rating is for the book itself. I have a 2 yr old and I think that this was a bit advanced for her.

Are you kidding me
Derived From Web , Jan 1, 2022
Im having baby #2 so I thought I would read it to my 3yr old daughter in preparation for his arrival... um. nope! 2 pages in when I read it out loud to her and get to the word Sperm...i closed it. Its so detailed and over the top for a children's book. Sorry, im not a Prude, but this is not kid friendly. It is too much. It is right back, returning it.

Great book for kids
Derived From Web , Oct 26, 2021
Of course, I want to be honest with him, but at 5 years old, he does not need to know every detail of how I got pregnant. This book satisfied his curiosity, answered his questions, and was informative without being TOO.

Very very vulgar
Derived From Web , May 11, 2020
Did not appreciate the call from my counterfeiting story time with my 7 year old grandson saying that she had to literally rip out certain pages of the book because of how obscenely graphic they were. For example, Dad puts his sperm inside mommy's ovum. A baby then starts to grow between mommy's legs. When the baby is ready to be born, he comes out of an opening between mommy's legs called her vagina. Why anyone writing a book for children would write that part of the story so vividly is mind-baffling! Don 't buy unless this exact verbage is something you are ok with! It is absolutely fine to have the time to explain to teachers, congregation members or in-laws that I just don 't have time for.

Nice but not for kids

Book Cute : Nice quality : For me, I did not expect it to be so descriptive. I bought this for my four year old, but will not give it to him. I am not ready to talk about sperm and how a baby comes out of mommy's vagina.

Not really what I needed for my kid
Derived From Web , Dec 22, 2018
I really wanted to focus more on what to expect, especially when I first came home. Too much information on how the baby got there, at least for me, since my kid does not seem curious at all about it. I wanted to prepare her for what actually happens when it is time for the baby to come and when everyone goes home... like Mommy staying for a few days in the hospital, baby's feeding schedule, etc.
