Book Overview

Completely revised and expanded brand-new edition of Volume I, the first book in the Whiskey poetry trilogy

Whiskey, Words, and a Shovel, Vol. 1, is about reclaiming your power on the path to a healthy relationship. It is a testament to choosing to love yourself, even if it means heartbreak.

Originally released in 2015, this re-rerelease packs the same punch as the first version, but makes an even greater connection with the soul of the reader. Each piece has been re-seen and revamped to reflect the author's continuing journey with his partner, Samantha King, without whom this book would not exist. Samantha is the muse, the she the writer speaks of; she is every woman who has felt like she wasn't good enough, and every woman who struggles to find love.

   Disappointing
I have never wanted to not finish a book... until this. Both juvenile and depressing. It was I read a Pinterest - Quote Board of Sad Emo Sayings and they had been all jumbled into a book. At this point there is no flow at all.

   I love this author.
This book came at a perfect time in my life as a woman who was divorced after a 30 - year abusive relationship. I can not say enough good about his writing.

   Weird Texture of Cover
The book itself is delightful with great poems within it. The texture of the cover felt small and when used it left strange finger prints on it. Nevertheless, the finger prints make it more well-loved. I also tried to remove the sticker that comes on the cover and it left a mark which is a mammer, but does not take away from the content within the book!

   Geared for teens.
Not what I thought, very cheesy, redundant, and elementary for lack of a better word. I probably would have liked this as an angsty teen, but lacked depth and complexity.

   Amazing
I actually did not finish it as fast as I thought I would. It took me about a week because I read almost every poem twice just to make sure I read between the lines.

   GREAT BOOK
I love it, I got it to help me through a breakup and although I felt like there were more sad things written it helped me realize my worth and understand how every woman should be treated. After reading this, I felt better about myself and let people go who weren 't worth my time. Since then, I have felt better than ever. If it was not for this book, it would still be negative in life and would still be surrounded by all the sad people who were in my life.

   Yay
I can see why some people would claim that they do not like this book. It is not for everyone, especially if you hate men. Yes, Sin is a man, but his writings resonate with the reader. He is not telling a woman how she should live or how she should love. This isn 't a man's plea to be loved or male privilege. This is a man who says, you deserve love. That we all deserve to be truly loved, and these pieces are about settling down and loving your worth, and accepting nothing less. The woman of his dreams is that he loves. And this is not only admirable, but also beautiful.

   Powerful
Powerful and uplifting to get me out of the pain of a recently broken heart. Thank you for bringing me peace and handheld awareness. What you kill doesn't make you stronger!
