Book Overview

This Description may be from another edition of this product.

The best-selling author of Circle Maker, which helped over 2 million people learn to talk to God, now helps readers learn how to listen to God.

The voice that spoke the cosmos into existence is the same voice that parted the Red sea, and made the sun stand still in the midday sky. One day, this voice will make all things new, but it's also speaking to you now

That voice is God's voice, and what we've learned from Scripture is that He often speaks in a whisper. Not to make it difficult to hear Him, but to draw us close.

Many people have a tough time believing God still speaks. Sure, in ancient times and in mysterious ways, God spoke to His people, but is He still speaking now?

Mark Batterson certainly believes so. And he wants to introduce you to the seven love languages of God; each of them unique and entirely divine. Some of them you might suspect but others will surprise you.

By learning to tune in to and decipher each language, you'll be able to hear His guidance in simple as well as life-altering choices. God is actively speaking through: Scripture, Desires, Doors, Dreams, People, Promptings, and Pain. Batterson gives you the tools you need to unlock each of these languages.

God's whisper can answer your most burning questions, calm your deepest fears, and fulfill your loftiest dreams.

Discover how simple it is to hear God's voice in every aspect of your life

He's speaking, make sure you know how to listen

Chapters are mixed up and some are missing completely understand
The writing is great, too. The book is mixed up with other works by Malvo. Starting with chapter 8, the book follows the format of "American Masters": Chapter 9, "some pages from chapter 9". It has two parts: The first is a collection of short stories, the second is a whole chapter. The book is missing chapter 10, which is probably its last.

Wonderful case made for listening to the still small voice and for the practice of Silence
Mark is a wonderful storyteller, Levine said. He clearly is a learner and he draws on his vast experience and reading across many disciplines to help us grow in our experience with prayer, he said.

   not quite there
I am a huge Mark Cuban fan. I have read most of his books and he has always had a new perspective. I'm glad that NCC has done well, that is his baby. In books, I think the focus needs to be different than what is happening in his church plant, said Dr. Jay Reeves, director of Baylor's Center for Public Service. Rehashing of NCC progress is redundant, I felt. I think there needs to be more of a separation between what he offers in his writing and what the church is striving for, he said. The book is a disappointment, Rowling said. It didn't seem that he wanted to go all in and present all that material, as in his previous books.

   Easy and engaging
Mark brings us back to the good old days with stories and lessons that are solid and memorable. I didn't want it to end, Blair said.

   Very intuitive, on point
Very informative, a while new way to look at God, His word, and how we can put it to use.

   Know God!
A great book. He said the new prison ministry has helped him get into work. Accessible yet challenging, Hubach said. You can't get on top of addictions and other life-altering issues without knowing God. Then the chain of healing begins.

   Listen!
Thanks for the tip. I enjoy some of the history lessons, too. Used Whisper for a small group study and we really got a lot of great practical application to enjoy and increase their time with God, said Mark E. Powell, assistant pastor at Grace Baptist Church.

We're delighted with the results, said Whisper. I walk away from this book feeling more confident and equipped to hear God's voice better. He also tells me how I was hearing Him without even knowing it was Him. Mark Batterson has masterfully written so much information, guidance and encouragement into a book that you won't want to put down. He also teaches us about the different ways that God speaks to us through his love languages. I highly recommend this book no matter where you are in your walk with the Lord. Even if someone did try to walk away, I believe it would be too difficult for anyone to read it. I believe that this is one of those special personal libraries that readers will return to over and over again.

If you are serious about learning how to hear from God, it WILL happen.
Very few people have the understanding how to and what it takes to hear God's voice. It's one of those life changing books. While reading one can clearly tell this man knows the entire story. His research on praying to God is well-explained, and flows easily. He goes into detail about how to tune out distractions so one can truly hear that still small voice. He goes into it with just enough of the anatomy of the ear and the physics of sound to validate his knowledge and experience. Not only will you read this book for spiritual reasons, you will find his humorous anecdotes Mark Batterson is called of God and his work is anointed. Several copies have been purchased for friends and family members. Note taking: This next reading, I am taking notes. All Rights Reserved.
