Perfect for biography reading lessons and report writing in 3rd/4th gr

I purchased these for my third grade classroom. They are great for the biographer genre and then use them for report writing. The three years I used them so far, the kids LOVED them. Easy for their reading levels, informative and people they have heard in their lives. They would read her own and then read about other things they had heard. Could have left these books for a 12 year and still read them.

My daughter is doing a book report presentation on Amelia the next week. Teacher suggested the who is series of the teachers. They are very comprehensive and informative. Great for a third grade reader is great for a great third grade reader.

Wow! Wow! This work is magnificent, I was delighted with the story about Amelia's life. It fascinates me that a woman has made history in the area of aviation, a sector that is associated with men only erroneously. But Amelia is a woman who has proven that when you want, you can and that gender is not a limitation, Amelia showed that a woman can be as good in aviation as a man can be. The book is missing something, and it is to inquire deeply about the disappearance of Amelia Earhart. I would like it to be known one day what led to her disappearance.

A great book about Amelia Earhart's life and achievements for young readers. It focuses more on her life than her mysterious death. It also gives an insight into what kind of world it was for women during the timeframe in which she lived and flew. My second granddaughter thought she was a great lady... and I agree!

Unfortunate underlying message.

For my 4-9 year old children it was easy to read and amusing. Unfortunately, there were more than 3 occasions where it said she could not get married and have children because she would have to stop flying or that she had to choose between marriage and her dream. It seemed to me that the underlying message was a very negative view of marriage. At one point, her instructor pilot, who had married, decided not to fly and said that her friend's flying days were over just as Amelia feared. Now Neta would be a wife and mother.

Inspiring hometown woman

Bought this for my nieces for my nieces. My mother grew up in Amelia's hometown of Atchison, KS, near Atchison, KS. The Life sized statue decorates the downtown plaza. Amelia rented an apartment in the building where my grandparents attended school.

My 7 and 9 year old love this who was a series. Kiddy is very informative kids, not to kiddy. Kids love these and parents too. Kids love to share what they have recently learned and can learn just as much as the parents with ears opened!

Decent book, could use less of a political feel

I bought this book to use in a homeschool lesson, and it got the job done. I think that the author leaned a little heavy on the feminist angle, however. I could have done with less hammering on the she wanted to be independent and not marry '' drum as I don 't know any married women who are completely dependent on their husbands. It felt a little agenda-ish.
