Ted Geisel loved to doodle from the time he was a kid. He had an offbeat, fun-loving personality. He often threw dinner parties where guests wore outrageous hats And he donned quirky hats when thinking up ideas for books-?like his classic The Cat in the Hat. This biography, with black-and-white illustrations throughout, brings an amazingly gifted author/illustrator to life.

   Great concise biography
I love reading biographies but sometimes it’s just too much and I want a condensed version. That’s just what this was! It was filled with awesome facts about his life and what led him to write children’s books without being dry and boring. I want to read more of this series!

Do not buy this particular book of the "Who Was" collection.
I've had a lot of compliments about the Who Was and Who Is collection, said Jennette Tamayo, a New Jersey mom of two. My daughter reads them before bed every night. What are you thinking? Adults? Clearly this is a book for kids. The reason this is included is that it is a detail that is often requested by the client. What is more, why is no thought given to preserving the innocence of our children? What a disappointment and complete lack of judgement by everyone involved in creating this book, Robert B. Mallon said.

   Great Book
What a difference a bullet makes? My son absolutely loves it, his mom said. He had read it over and over again, I pray he will be motivated like Dr. Seuss.

My 8 year old granddaughter got the George Washington doll. She learned so much and I did as well.

... enough information to be interesting and knowledgeable BUT not BORING.
The second book in the series, "The Eyewitness Series" by Michael Lewis, was also highly recommended.

   I love this series!
I wish this series had been around when I was a kid. So far, I have purchased Jim Henson, Dr. Seuss, George Lucas and Walt Disney for my son. These books are a great way for me to introduce the people who have always inspired me, to my own children, Mrs Clinton said. I believe that reading about different creative talents history is not only a great way for kids to learn but also a great way to inspire them. We always have great conversations when we discuss the people from these books because we teach each other new things, he said.
