Book Overview

He was only 42 years old when he was sworn in as President of the United States in 1901, making TR the youngest president ever. But did you know that he was also the first sitting president to win the Nobel Peace Prize? The first to ride in a car? The first to fly in an airplane? Theodore Roosevelt's achievements as a naturalist, hunter, explorer, author, and soldier are as much a part of his fame as any office he held as a politician. Find out more about The Bull Moose, the Progressive, the Rough Rider, the Trust Buster, and the Great Hunter who was our larger-than-life 26th president in Who Was Theodore Roosevelt?

   Education and Learning is Fun!
My nephew had a class drawing of presidents of the United States who they had to learn about, write a report and give an oral speech about what they learned. I am so glad that he enjoys learning, said Dr. Julie Gerberding, director of the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This book is an easy read, as well as helped him prepare for this class project.

Great book for kids to learn a little history.
A great book for kids to learn a little history. We are working on our sons reading skills and allowing him to read a funny book and we drop in a historical book like this so he not only is working on reading skills but actually learning something about a person or event that was historic. This normally leads to questions about the event and we can do some additional research after the fact, he said.

   Really enjoy these books!
Really enjoy these books, said Blair. We're not even sure we knew Teddy Roosevelt. I haven't regretted buying them, I think. Editing has caused some problems, but nothing too bad, Bruno said. I have a 9 year old who reads them all.
