Book Overview

#1 New York Times bestselling author Dan Brown makes his picture book debut with this mindful, humorous musical, and uniquely entertaining book

Travel through the trees and across the seas with Maestro Mouse and his musical friends Young readers will meet a big blue whale and speedy cheetahs, tiny beetles and graceful swans. Each has a special secret to share.

Along the way, you might spot the surprises Maestro Mouse has left for you- a hiding buzzy bee, jumbled letters that spell out clues, and even a coded message to solve

Children and adults can enjoy this timeless picture book as a traditional read-along, or can choose to listen to original musical compositions as they read--one for each animal--with a free interactive smartphone app, which uses augmented reality to play the appropriate song for each page when a phone's camera is held over it.

A must buy for toddlers to introduce fun and awesome "classical" music
When I first bought this for my daughter, she wasn't as interested in listening to the music as she was drawn to the pictures. As she got older, she began to absolutely love the music and already knew the connection between the different animals. She'll lie down and ask for the music when she wakes up. My daughter is so appreciative of having some classical music playing over and over, rather than the sometimes loud and abrasive kiddie tunes that are in all toddler toys, Mrs. Dhaliwal said. This book is by far the best seller of all time. Note that technically, you do not need a smart phone to access the internet. But as of now, my granddaughter has all but figured out how to use the phone to play the music.

   Delightful book and audio
Really enjoyed the book, and the accompanying audio download was also great. Each book also includes a dozen or so hidden puzzles for my grandkids ages 3 and 5.

   The app is unique.
My grandson especially likes the video feature, which can be used without the book. It's just that I've never seen it." Buttons usually wear out or don't work as well as expected.

It's such a beautifully illustrated and written book, and the music is awesome. The other was perfect, Mr. Dhaliwal said.

book is fine. app not as described
The book was not available for sale through the iBooks store. It really just showed the picture and played music, Mr. Dhaliwal said.

Best Children's Book since Goodnight Moon!
Beautifully illustrated with gorgeous color pictures and sound, this is a must-have for children's book lovers. It's terrific music, along the lines of A Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra, but less stuffy, more memorable, and more timely. The text is in clever rhymes, that my grandchildren now repeat along as I read it, making it easy to memorize. And to top it all, it was written by Dan Brown, so the pages are filled with codes and secrets that are fun for children and adults alike to solve. This should be a must-have present for anyone with children to buy for. It was a delight to find the book, and I can't recommend it highly enough.

   best book ever
As a former elementary teacher, I had no idea any book could wow me. The music you can download is so catchy, your toddler can't help moving to the beat. I find the music playing in my head as I go for a run. There are many other things to do with the book. Look at the pictures, find the bee on each page, discover the letters to unscramble to form the names of musical instruments, and learn the names of the animals from the end pages. Then begin listening to the instruments and learn their sounds. From 19 months to forever, this book will be a book to cherish. There is also an option to download all the pictures so kids can choose their own music. My daughter loves to gallop to the horse music, stalk and pounce as a cheetah, hop like a kangaroo and clomp like a hippo.

   Great Christmas gift idea
This book has been on my nightstand for a long time. Both are parents to Kristen and Max. The new kid on the block, the Piano, has added that the app plays the music is brilliant. It's like being at the symphony. It's a great Christmas present for any music lover.

Not on par with carnival of the animals
It's not a bad book, but not what I was hoping for, since there are not that many activities that fit well with the book in the classroom, Mrs. Dhaliwal said.

   A Spectacular Book
One of my favorites is "The Da Vinci Code." The illustrations are wonderful, I love the story and the music that goes along with it. I love the music, said Christina Barrenas, music teacher at Nottingham High School.
