We didn't enjoy this a nearly as much as the original series.
I felt like some of the authors just tried too hard, Frey said. It took us forever to get through this as a read aloud, which was completely different from the originals where my children begged me to read more! If you choose to read the second book, you may find that you enjoy the first book more.

Very different flavors from Peterson’s Zbooks
One or two of the stories in this collection were fun and the same feel and tone as the original Wingfeather books. But most of the stories were so very different from the originals that I and my children did not enjoy them. The story about Podo's pirating days changed the few details previously revealed, and made him out to be more selfish and villainous than I wanted to learn. The longest story is very dark and depressing, very contrary to the tone of Peterson's works, and not appropriate for children, it said. The book is very good, but I was disappointed with the cover. We'll just reread the original Wingfeather books.

   Amazing!
I usually hate reading books, but the wing feather saga has kept me captivated! It took me several attempts to stop reading to realize that this book is truly inspirational. There's something about letting your mind wander to the supernatural, that which God intended for us to dwell in, that brings one, not farther from reality, but deeper into the true reality of God.

   The adventure continues!
I pre-ordered this book for my 12 year old son after following along with Harper's live read along. He was eager to pick it up every day and got through it quickly, even though he was a bit overwhelmed at first, he said. The entire WF series has been a wonderful adventure for him, Morgenthau said.

   Great book. Lots of fun.
We received this today and started reading it, Mr. Dhaliwal said. The artistry and fun stories told by these two masters of the macabre will set the record straight. We are so excited to be spending a little more time with our families, said Blair.
