   Clear, concise, helpful
This is the best book I have ever read on the subject. Many of them are meaningless, but I give you information that is presented in a more narrative way that helps you retain it. The way the book is organized makes it easy to find information. Don't skip any chapters if you don't think it's worth it. I almost did that. I picked up a lot of great information once I got a few paragraphs in. The presentation is great. O' Conner has a sense of humor that keeps things interesting.

   Favorite grammar book
I am a professional writer. I own many books on the subject. This is the one I like the most. I discovered it a few months ago and have already read it twice. This is not a style and usage book like some of the other popular books. For instance, it has more nuts and bolts than Sin and Syntax. That's a great book, but it is slanted toward the style side of the language. A good style book will at least flirt with the basics of grammar, because the two topics are so intertwined.

   Entertaining!
I enjoy reading this book. Whenever I need to kill a little time, I keep it on my desk. I use it as a reference when writing. Someday, I hope, I will be able to apply everything in the book. The humor in this book can be enjoyed by anyone who is a grammarphobe. Ms. O' Conner's style is easy to understand. I recommend it to everyone who writes. It's more interesting than the one I studied in college.

"The Aspiring Pedant's Guide to Writing"
The English language is addressed in this book. Despite linguistic evolution we' re experiencing in this digital age, it has remained relevant. Some of the points that are brought up seem a little silly to me as a college junior but I suppose these are things that enough people either disregard or never learned well. Simple language makes it easier to understand some of the annoying English rules. It's a great book to have for reference, especially for anyone preparing a resumés or documents that impact professional reputation.

Best. Grammar. Book. Ever. And funny.
In 2000 or 2001, I read this book for the first time. I changed my life. I have made my living writing since it changed my writing. This is my first recommendation when clients ask for help with their writing.

I think a more modern version would be better.
That's what the book is about, and does have some interesting information on the subject. The language is very old as well as the examples. A more modern version would be better.
