A special movie tie-in edition of R.J. Palacio's #1 New York Times bestseller, now a major motion picture starring Julia Roberts, Owen Wilson, Jacob Tremblay, Daveed Diggs, and Mandy Patinkin.

Over 6 million people have fallen in love with Wonder and Auggie Pullman, the ordinary boy with the extraordinary face, who inspired a movement to Choose Kind. This special movie tie-in edition features an eight-page full-color insert with photos from the film, a foreword by the director Stephen Chbosky, an afterword by R.J. Palacio, a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the movie with anecdotes from the cast and crew, and a family discussion guide.

August Pullman was born with a facial difference that, up until now, has prevented him from going to a mainstream school. Starting 5th grade at Beecher Prep, he wants nothing more than to be treated as an ordinary kid--but his new classmates can't get past Auggie's extraordinary face. Wonder, a #1 New York Times bestseller, begins from Auggie's point of view, but soon switches to include his classmates, his sister, her boyfriend, and others. These perspectives converge in a portrait of one community's struggle with empathy, compassion, and acceptance.

In a world where bullying among young people is an epidemic, this is a Read More chevron_right

   Everyone should read this book!
This should be on every school mandatory reading list. A boy with a severe facial anomaly goes to school for the first time as a fifth grader. The book is broken out in sections from certain characters point of view. I read the book while listening to the audiobook and loved the voices as well. The story touches extreme bullying and friendships. The ending made me cry like crazy! I give R. J. Palacio a standing ovation!!

Llegó a tiempo.

A Great Story for All Ages
What a great story. I was looking for books with positive messages for my seventh graders to read, and I think I found the perfect one. Middle school is hard on everyone, and Auggie's genetic abnormality makes his first time at school harder. Throughout his first year, the book sticks with him as he goes through the ups and downs of being a kid. Auggie's worries about fitting in and the sometimes funny, sometimes sad hijinks he gets into would really connect to kids. I liked how this book flowed. As a reader, you can see how Auggie learns from the people around him, as well as the lessons he learns from his point of view. He teaches others to have basic compassion and humanity, to stop underestimating and discriminating against differences that are outside anyone's control.

   Issues with book quality
It had a black ink on the back of the book. When I took it out of the envelope, it stained my fingers. Also, from the pictures, there is a small bump in the upper part of the book that has hurt some pages. According to the product description, the condition was new, so that the quality of the book was not expected to be what new condition ''.
