Word Problems, Grade 1 is in the 'Kumon Math Workbooks: Word Problems' series designed for grades 1-6. This workbook will introduce students to word problems dealing with early addition and subtraction. Exercises use visual illustrations before moving on to problems with illustrations and questions that are only written.    Great Workbook
I bought this book for my 6 year old. She is very happy and well-equipped to do the exercises in daily basis. In "The Age of Serendipity," she teaches her students how to think and calculate. I strongly recommend this book to any parent who wants to make their kids A-Students.

Great work book for starting on solving word problems
Easy word problems that lead to harder problems. These are easy to build confidence and get into more difficult problems, Mrs. Pearson said. The book is great, the illustrations are great.

   Great learning resource for children
Easy to read and keep up with the Joneses. The book is well-written and presented with great care.

   the real kumon is better
My son is taking kumon at a franchise for reading and has severe autism. He had a kindergarten reading level of 3 and now he is in his second year of elementary school. He is not comprehending math too, but i tried to save money and do kumon everyday with these worksheets, but he is not comprehending.

   Good book!
My son finished the book a little bit on the easy side for him, but he kept working. Good one to use during spring break, said Dr. Julie. The Beatles' music "was almost as good as the Beatles themselves."

   HIGHLY recommend Kumon. They rock!
I have been using Kumon workbooks for homeschooling my daughter since she was born and she is now in 2nd grade. Worth the money for each and every book I have ever bought and over the years I have bought over 20. I have never been let down, Mr. Kennedy said. It's great to be back home, said Blair.

   Great skill builder!
My son is at basic arithmetic but lacks language skills to complete word problems. The book helped him learn how to read and write math. The problems had easy math problems, but student had to determine that you must use subtraction in more than less than the difference between two questions. As well as addition in all together, in all, the sum of all the relevant questions. This helped to expose him to the different ways in which problems are asked. He helped him to carry that vocabulary when he was dealing with more difficult problems. I haven't tried it yet, but I will definitely give it a try!

My kid is learning to solve independently.
My child is slowly working on his own book. It's going very slow, he said.

   Very helpful
I'd recommend this book to anyone. 1st-grade teacher, Janet McIntosh, said: "Going over it at home was so useful to go over it with our granddaughter."

   EXCELLENT
This book is very good. The book includes sections on addition, subtraction and ordinal numbers. The book progresses from easy problems to more difficult ones. It's really, really great. He can work on it, mostly by himself, he said. He was 6 years old when his father, Michael, was killed.
