Meet Wordy Birdy, a very chatty bird who talks WAY more than she listens A hilarious new story from Tammi Sauer, beloved author of Nugget & Fang, Chicken Dance, and My Alien.

Wordy Birdy LOVES to talk. Hello, sunrise. Hello, pink sky. Hello, orange sky But does she love to listen? NOPE. One day, while she's walking through the forest, her gift of the gab gets her into hot water: That's a pretty tree and that's a pretty tree and that's a pretty danger sign and that's a pretty tree. . . . Will this inattentive bird walk right into danger? Will her faraway thoughts lead her along a path of doom? It's up to her long-suffering, heard-it-all-before pals Squirrel, Raccoon, and Rabbit to save their distracted friend.

Author Tammi Sauer will have kids and their parents in stitches with this funny, fast-paced, lovable caper about the importance of paying attention--and the importance of standing by your friends through thick and thin.

And look for the hilarious sequel, Wordy Birdy Meets Mr. Cougarpants

   Very short story
So thin was the paper that the post office made it into a tri-fold. Vibrant illustrations are shown.

   Cute lesson funny!
This was a gift for a young neighbor that I regularly purchase books to encourage reading for her and her little sister.

   Huge Hit!
Wordy Birdy was a big hit with my 5 yr. old grandson, Frankie. He laughed non-stop from the first reading to probably the 20th. And we only had the book for about 3 days. He can hardly get enough! Every minute he loves. For such an amazing selection, thank you Amazon Book Box.

Not for 3 year old son!
Book Ridiculous and not as clever as we expected. Picture of ferocious lion at the end was also too much for my son and gave him nightmares. Sorry, can not recommend.

My 5 yo son likes this book quite a bit
He is not a reader, but he did request that I read him twice within the first day we received it. It's a cute story and he likes it.

   We love Wordy Birdy!
He has autism, and sometimes, I am not sure if he picks the story line or not. But the day after reading this, he was not listening and I gave him the mom look and he said to me, I'm like Wordy Birdy. This story is about a great bird named Wordy who loves to talk but is not so beautiful in listening. It is pretty and the illustrations are very cute.

A funny story about the value of learning to listen.
In this silly story, Wordy Birdy is so busy talking that she doesn't listen to the warnings that her friends try to give. Not until she is in serious trouble does she bothers to listen. Stories like this can point out gently that listening is a valuable and important skill. The story is both funny and thoughtful, making it its point through the events of the story, rather than preaching. The bright, colorful illustrations are attractive and eye-catching and add to the effectiveness of the book.

Best children’s book for the “keeper shelf “
This is now my favorite book for children. I bought 5 of them because I love them so much. I bought this for a friend's little boy, who is very quiet. When his new brother arrived, I gave it to him. I can 't pick which animal I love the best in the story. If possible, this would be a book 7 *******.

Wonder lesson learned - listen more!
Yes, it is normal for a 4 year old to be chatty, but there is a time to stop talking and listen. We say wordy birdy '' and she knows immediately what it means and takes a break.
