Personally, I felt it was more grammar than writing, and I was looking for an actual writer not teaching grammar.

Prefect starting book to get kid ready for Grade 1
Derived From Web , Apr 24, 2022
I am really happy with the book, said Fatima. A great book, a great learning experience for my child, Gillian. My son has worked on Beestar grade 1 online since September. The two had talked about writing a book. This book is another effective and affordable way to learn Shaolin. My son loves both Beestar and the Kumon book series, as they are fun learning tools for this age transition, and I am sure he will be ready for first grade. I will share it with my friends and family, and I will also send it to my teachers. I really look forward to seeing my son's progress using this book and hope his honor roll rank moves up at Beestar, said Kim. I hope Kumon continues to deliver high quality material to move students above and beyond the average resource.

Great resource!

I'm using this workbook with my son to reinforce concepts he's learned at school. It's great for fine practice, writing concepts, and review of reading concepts such as consonant blends like ch, th, long and short vowels.

HELPS WITH SPELLING AND VOCABULARY!
Derived From Web , Apr 24, 2022
The book helped my daughter improve her spelling. The books are great for review and work well as a supplement to a full curriculum. There are lessons on verbs and nouns, but the lesson assumes your child already knows what verbs and nouns are.

Tip to motivate your child to complete Kumon books!
Derived From Web , Feb 13, 2018
I've fallen in love with all the books. You can use tape to make the coins appear larger by taping them to the back of the book. Only when your child completes both the front and back will they get the coin.
