If you really want to understand brewing
Derived From Web , May 24, 2022
The information in this book is invaluable whether you are just starting out as a home brewer or have years of experience. After brewing for nearly 7 years, mostly reading articles from popular brew magazines, collecting information from online forums, watching youtube videos, I would strongly urge you to pick up a copy of this book. Whether it gives too much information or not, is up to you to determine, but even if the knowledge goes unused, I'd imagine that everyone would love to have an idea of what really goes on in the brewing chemistry. I would strongly recommend all books in this series for anyone who is serious about brewing beer.

Set up your beer yest lab at home or at the brewery
Derived From Web , May 24, 2022
After reading this book, I am absolutely hooked on the beer yeast. It includes a section for building a brewing lab where you pay a special attention to the magical ingredient in brewing, giving in deep understanding why sometimes beer comes off a bit off-recipe. I recommend this book to any homeartisenal brewer who wants to improve their set-up as well as to be able to make tests that will also save a ton of money in producing beer. The only thing I missed from this book is that they didn't talk enough about other yeasts like chicha, hydromel or even wines. This book is quite specific for beer brewing. Some graphs also don't have their scales defined properly.

If you are looking for a book that discusses the intricacies of yeast in general, this is not for you. But if you're looking for an extensive guide on propagating, storing and pitching yeast, this is the perfect reference book. It is a wide range of information and is particularly useful for homebrewers and nanobrewers.

Wow...There is a lot of great information in this read...
Derived From Web , Dec 4, 2020
If you are a home brewer, 10% of the 304 pages provides valuable information that will take your beer to that next level. That said, be prepared to write the last couple of checklists as the author limits what you get to cut and paste... Why? If I were a microbrewery, I would buy the printed version, so that I could copy the pertinent pages and add them to my journal.

No basics in this book
Derived From Web , Oct 14, 2019
I was hoping that this book would tell you how to do scientific things like yeast starters or wash yeast, but it goes over the more simple things with yeast that I don 't yet care about. I first wanted to learn more basic skills.

Essential Knowledge For Intermediate/Advanced Brewers
Derived From Web , Sep 26, 2017
This is a fantastic booking for home brewers or smaller breweries owners who want to learn more about the contributions of yeast in the fermentation of beer, how to improve your fermentation with better yeast handling and pitching and how to set up your own lab for propagation and testing of yeast. The book is well written and easy to understand for someone who does not have a background in microbiology. I found this book to be much more informative than the Hops book and much easier to follow the water book.
