   The whole book seems to be vaguely funny, but really just boring on the whole
The whole book seems to be vaguely funny, but on the whole it is really kind of boring. The tone does not change throughout the book and makes it pretty dry. If you aren 't tickled by her humor on tv, you will probably not be when reading the book either. The actual advice is pretty good if that is why you are reading it, I enjoyed the tips on figuring out who you are and not feeling bad about it, it is just a super entertaining read.

   I love Amy Poehler so much and I knew her book ...
I was going through a huge break-up at the time and was down on myself about everything and just couldn't seem to get back to myself, so I found this book online to help with things and it really helped. I love Amy Poehler so much and I knew that her book would be great, so thank you Amy Poehler for guiding me through some bad times!

   Funny but could have been better
I think she is incredibly funny and ridiculously talented on TV, but that is not always apparent in Yes Please. A significant part of the book is dedicated to how much she did not want tocouldn write the book. I wish that more pages had been dedicated to stories and her take on life, rather than just speaking about how she never thought she would complete the book. I was expecting something more along the lines of Chelsea Handler's Are You There Vodka, It's Me Chelsea, where each chapter is dedicated to a different story about her life.

   You won't be disappointed, I promise
Since meeting her as Colby on the Upright Citizens Brigade, I have loved Amy Poehler. Obviously, I have jumped at the opportunity to buy this book. I was not disappointed. As far as autobiographies go, this breaks the mold. Interspersed with witty anecdotes, wise jokes and a true insight into the behind-the-scenes action of Saturday Night Live, the book captured my attention from page one to the end. I can 't wait to see what else this talented woman can come up with.

   YES, PLEASE, I'd Like to Read it Again!
If you like Amy Poehler, it is hard not to like this book too. At times, it leans more towards a PG-13 to R rating in content and language than I'm used to hearing from Amy's mouth, but somehow it's still good, if not quite *clean* - fun. Amy's stories range from the ridiculous to the vulnerable and downright sage and are both captivating and yet somehow enlightening. And yes, I started referring to her simply as Amy, because after reading her book the tiny blonde Buddha feels more like my sister-from-anothermother than some wacky-talented comedian actresswriter-producerdirectorsuperwoman who happens to have written a book I enjoyed.

   Brought Me Back to Reading
The excessive reading in college also kept me from reading for fun. A friend loaned me this book, and it made me love reading again. I laughed out loud and read several passages to my boyfriend several times.

If you want to know Amy P better, this is a great way. I appreciate her more and she doesn't sugarcoat what her life is like even though she knows she has been given a lot.
