The Zen of doing anything is doing it with a particular state of mind that brings the experience of enlightenment - and through that experience, happiness. In Zen and the Art of Happiness, you will learn how to think and feel so that what you think and feel creates happiness and vibrancy in your life rather than gloominess or depression. Cutting-edge science and spirituality tell us that what we believe, think and feel actually determine the makeup of our body at the cellular level. We all have a personal philosophy that influences our thoughts and feelings. It deals with what we have come to believe about the world, its people and its events - about how those events affect us and how we affect them. Whatever your personal philosophy is, it is completely responsible for your state of happiness and well-being because it determines how you respond to events that come into your life.

This book reminds us what we knew as infants to take care of the universe, to watch without judging and marvel at the small and great miracles known as life.

I dig it
Derived From Web , May 25, 2022
It's a good book to the point and not too heavy. If you have a thing for Buddhism and you would like to get more intellectual without having to be all enlightened, this is the book for you. You could take it in a few hours, but I suggest you read it slowly and savor it a bit. Out of it, I got something good.

This book made me feel happy
Derived From Web , May 25, 2022
This book made me happy. Sometimes you have to work to be happy, but that makes happiness even more worth it. The book is small enough to stuff in your purse, in the face, it stayed in mine for a while, so that I could refer back to passages. It is now on my bookshelf in case I need any reminders.

Loved this book!
Derived From Web , Feb 14, 2019
Despite some negative reviews, I still ordered this book and gave it a shot. I truly feel like this book helped me to stay calm and focus on patience and content, some of the reviews stated that he spoke about his business in assisting people, but I did not feel like anything was wrong with it. To me, if your heart is right and you truly want to help others, there is nothing wrong with mentioning people in numerous ways by going to a healing program. What is wrong with this? And other books he referred to, I am sure that I will enjoy reading like I did this one, but respectfully I am going to disagree with some negative reviews below, this book had some great stories and references that have changed me since reading. I would definitely recommend checking this book out if you are looking for some inner peace and change.

New favorite

I enjoyed reading this book and the perspective it gave. I have lent my copy to someone in need and I have been persistently telling others to read the book. If you have a habit of worrying about others and a hard time focusing on yourself, this book will put a spin on your thought process. The writer is an addiction counselor ; he has helped many move through hardships. This is for those who have issues that are not known and don 't need high coaching levels. This is for the person who has a hard time negotiating relationships, work issues, most interactions that involve other humans. I did not realize that my happiness was in jeopardy because of me. After finishing this book, I am much more at ease and happy. I would like to think again about it.

Great, quick, and easy book on learning how to be happy
Derived From Web , Jul 2, 2018
This book has a huge impact on me. Sometimes it comes across as slightly advertising Chris's rehabilitation clinic, but if you ignore it and enters his real messages, it is very meaningful. Since then, I have read another book on happiness that I absolutely love, and I noticed that many points were equivalent between the two books. I find that you have to go into reading this type of book with the understanding that you may not understand how the ways of thinking presented can be done in reality, but you have to try and continue to change how your mind processes events and situations in daily life. The main take-away for me from the book was that no particular situation or occurrence is good or bad.

I LOVED this book!
Derived From Web , Apr 19, 2018
Its small, big print is easy to read, but gets straight to the point. It basically explains and helps you understand that NOTHING is a mistake in the universe and that things happen for a reason. Though things might be difficult at the moment, be patient because things are often blessings in disguise.
