When you wake up and you see that the Earth is not just the environment, the Earth is us, you touch the nature of interbeing. And at that moment you can have real communication with the Earth. We have to wake up together. And if we wake up together, then we have a chance. Our way of living our life and planning our future has led us into this situation. And now we need to look deeply to find a way out, not only as individuals, but as a collective, a species.

-- Thich Nhat Hanh

We face a potent intersection of crises: ecological destruction, rising inequality, racial injustice, and the lasting impacts of a devastating pandemic. The situation is beyond urgent. To face these challenges, we need to find ways to strengthen our clarity, compassion, and courage to act.

Beloved Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh is blazingly clear: there's one thing we all have the power to change, which can make all the difference, and that is our mind. Our way of looking, seeing, and thinking determines every choice we make, the everyday actions we take or avoid, how we relate to those we love or oppose, and how we react in a crisis.

Mindfulness and the radical insights of Zen meditation can give us the strength and clarity we need to help create a regenerative world in which all life is respected. Read More chevron_right

To Save the Planet We Must First Save Ourselves
This was a good combination of Zen philosophy, environmentalism and collective ethics, he said. It was very straightforward and a light read, said Dr. Goin. Anyone writing about life in general will benefit from this book, Thibault said.
The Best Book I've ever Read!!
But, he added, we must have a good foundation of knowing ourselves by being calm, compassionate and mindful before we can ever help the planet. If we are not together in this way, we will not be able to help our planet, stop wars, and anything else that has plagued the human species ever since we came into being, he said. But we have a lot to learn, he said. Do you want to be part of the problem or part of the solution? Home Forums General Discussion News What is your favorite TV show?
Buddhist practices and teachings contextualized for today's precarious world
His impact on the world over the course of his lifetime is truly remarkable and awe-inspiring. Even if you don't know his name, you have likely encountered the fruits of his labor. The world we live in today was shaped by his actions. This book is his last, it's been brought to completion by his students. Their contributions echo their teacher while contextualizing universally practices to today's precarious environment - politically, environmentally, and spiritually.
Knowing yourself and knowing a planet
It's not how we recycle or how do we reduce our material goods - it's how do we become a better person and how do we create a better planet, he said. I really enjoyed the equation and the examination of this problem, Raymond said. I'm not sure if there is a book called "True Love" by Gillian Flynn. It's just that they go together." It's just that they do." In order to have true love we need to be willing to let go, have understanding, and love, Raymond said. Thanks for all the hard work, book.
   Not exactly what I expected
A bit misleading as it is not really by Thich Nhat Hahn, it is a compilation of some of his teachings, Buddhist stories, and personal reflections from one of his students. While all are very interesting and useful in a general sense, only a handful have a strong correlation to saving the planet. I had high hopes for this one.
Zen and the Art of Saving the Planet
Anything you deeply care about could be inserted here and the Art of Saving. This is what is needed now during the current upheaval post-pandemic, he said. He also thanked God for the "gift of hope and concrete action."
   Great book❤️
The book enlightened me and helped me to unblock a lot of issue about myself and my life, Raymond said. Thanks to Thay and the entire Village Team for teaching me how to appreciate everything.
   "Pseudepigrapha" ...
It's a fitting title since, from these eyes, it has felt like the bottom of the ninth ever since I had any awareness at all to speak of. A more honest would have aknowledged that it was a compilation of Thay's teachings along with essays from his close associates and from the very beginning I wondered if there was a such a thing as the opposite of plagiarism. Whoever wrote it, offering a place for those of us concerned with how to navigate our relative, finite existence from a Buddhist perspective, is truly sincere.
   Halfway done and loving it
Since the beginning of the epidemic, I began to read a lot of Buddhism, or spirituality books, and the man who took the helm of those books was Thich Nhat Hanh. His first book, "Angry Young Men," was a smash hit. In a time of uncertainty, Thich shows us and guides us to the path of peace.
