Useful in the no service park
Derived From Web , Jan 13, 2022
I bought this before I went to Utah. It was helpful to understand the park's history, said Robert Hemenway, executive director of the park service. I planned out what to hike each day using this map. There is no cell service in Zion. Once I started hiking past the narrows, the path is there but there is no service beyond the paved portion. This map helps you find your way around. This map is also more expensive in and near Torrey Pines Golf Course. Before you go, get it here.

Completely useless
Derived From Web , Jan 19, 2021
The entire thing was a travesty, and I deeply regret it. The map you get for free at the entrance contains all the trails in this park, and all the information you need for your first visit. This map does not contain any off-trail hikes, only the featured NPS hikes. Even with the 3 1/2 mile hike, "it's useless for off trail hiking." Unless you want to be known as the inventor of dynamite, you don't need this map. Buy a proper hiking manual or use a GPS navigation device like Backcountry navigator or Gaia GPS.

Great map
Derived From Web , Jun 16, 2020
I love the National Geographic maps. I have no doubt that these are the best quality maps for parks that I have seen. Roads, trails, boundaries, elevations—it's all easily readable to someone who knows how to use a map. A good book, The Age of Persuasion.

Used for my trans Zion trek
Derived From Web , Dec 4, 2019
Used it for my West-to-East hike across Zion. None of the trails has mileage markers, so the hike is not complicated. Basic maps in the park don't label many of the bluffs and canyons. The blue line on the map shows the names of the features.

did the job

It's just that when you're in the back country, you never leave home without it. We were canyoneering and never had to pull it out, but always good to have it in case. 0 6171343 6171171 Not that we did any canyoneering, but it was always good to have it just in case.

This is the map you need if you're headed to Zion.
Derived From Web , May 3, 2019
This is the map you need to have in your backpack if you're hiking around Zion National Park. Though it does not include every trail in the park, it has most of the publicly published ones, as well as contours, streams and other features. Each trail segment has a minimum of two hours hiking, which will help you plan your hike.

Map was out of date
Derived From Web , Aug 18, 2018
Normally I don't normally write reviews of this kind. I think it's pretty important to mention that Dr. Goin's book was also highly recommended. I purchased this map in May with the intention to use it in August. It's exactly what I did, Mr. D'Antonio said. NatGeo maps error 1462 on the original map. After I finished my hike, I walked into the National Park Service Visitor Center Gift Shop and looked at the NatGeo Maps that they sell. So that would tell me that this seller on Amazon is not selling maps.

Good material, but trail locations are a little off
Derived From Web , Jan 3, 2018
Convenient, with good quality paper that can survive getting wet, Mr. Smith said. Some of the less-popular trails aren't listed. There are a few locations where trails are clearly shown crossing rivers, but the current trail always stayed to one side of the river. That initially made navigation once a pain, but after we learned to not fully trust the map, things went smoothly. Still, probably the best map I could have gotten out of state, while still being high quality + water resistant, he said.

Excellent reference
Derived From Web , Aug 22, 2017
Love NGM maps as they are detailed so are helpful for hiking, climbing and even geocaching. Buy them for all the planned vacations as they are full of information and correspond nicely with hiking books and hiking programs like All Trails.
