Book Overview

Grace. It's what we crave most when our guilt is exposed. It's the very thing we are hesitant to extend when we are confronted with the guilt of others--especially when their guilt has robbed us of something we consider valuable.

Therein is the struggle, the struggle for grace. It's this struggle that makes grace more story than doctrine. It's the struggle that reminds us that grace is bigger than compassion or forgiveness. That struggle is the context for both. When we are on the receiving end, grace is refreshing. When it is required of us, it is often disturbing. But when correctly applied, it seems to solve just about everything. This struggle is not new; it has been going on since the beginning.
--Andy Stanley

We find in the pages of Scripture that the stories found there often mirror our own stories, and that we too need the very thing we do not deserve: the grace of God.

From the beginning, the church has had an uneasy relationship with grace. The gravitational pull is always toward graceless religion. The odd thing is that when you read the New Testament, the only thing Jesus stood against consistently was graceless religion. The only group he attacked relentlessly was graceless religious leaders.

Even now as you think about grace, there might be a little voice in your head whispering, It can't be that easy

What about obedience?

I was lost before this book!
If you have trouble understanding Grace, this book is for you. This story is so anointed, if you will! At a time, meditate, read every scripture and know that your mind and heart will be transformed.

   New Dimensions of God's Grace
Having now read this book twice, I find it a stimulating view of God's grace not presented to me before. It definitely attracts the curiosity and forces a valuable rethinking of the breadth, width and height dimensions of the subject. I found it refreshing and a stimulator of great discussion in our weekly Bible study ladies and Gents. We are gaining a much broader understanding of how God works among those whom he chose to be his own.

   Warrior 4 Christ
This is a great read and I recommend this to anyone! In God's story, you are the focus of a celebration. Not what you have done. You are a master of the universe. You were found and lost. You were alive and now are dead. You were blind, and now see. That is the best news that God will ever receive about you. In your story, you are going to continue searching for a reason that God should love you. In your story, you are going to find reasons why he shouldn 't. Here is my suggestion : embrace your version of your story and give it up. In his story, he loves you, no matter what you have done. In his story, he does not love you because of what you have done. In his story, he could not love you more and he will never love you less! Praise the Lord for his kind of grace to all!

   Exceptional
The Grace of God '' was recently ordered by Andy Stanley. Andy does a great job of giving simple and detailed information starting with Genesis and through the Old and New Testament, showing that Grace was given from the beginning of time. Adam and Eve created the Earth and GAVE it to God. When they singed, HE gave them their clothing... We serve an incredible God. A God who is long on the rules, short on grace and love! We are the only true God. God is the only God who has created. Our God has an empty tomb... all the other tombs are occupied by God.

   This book is amazing
This book helped me to understand how the grace of God works and how far God has gone to extend this grace to me. It also helped me to understand some of the things God has done in the OT that I have had some confusion about. Book is great!

   A Practical and Easy Read
Love it! I read part of it in my train ride to work. I like to ponder the things that God reveals to me through Pastor Stanley's insights.

   Grace of God
The content is not real life and Andy gives plenty of shallow life encouragement on the subject of Grace. He brings us to a point of recognizing God's grace is everywhere and for everyone.

   Andy Stanley knows grace!
He really connects the dots from the beginning on how God has offered HIS grace from the beginning, where my interpretation of the Old Testament was reversal, so that I appreciate it.
