Alain Briot

Alain Briot is a contemporary landscape photographer who has won numerous awards. He was born in Paris, France, and studied drawing and oil painting at the Academie Nationale des Beaux Arts from 1977 to 1980. Briot then enrolled at the American Center in Paris to study photography. Briot was intrigued by the aesthetic potential of the American Southwest after viewing it, and he moved to the United States in 1986. From 1995 until 2002, Briot lived in Canyon de Chelly, Arizona, in the heart of the Navajo Nation, where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in 1990 and his Master's Degree in Visual Communication in 1992.

He became intimately aware with Native American arts and culture as a result of his time there, which is reflected in the framing and matting patterns he employs. Briot's ambition is to take the most thrilling and beautiful images he can. Alain Briot is a columnist for the Luminous Landscape website and a famous workshop instructor. With his wife Natalie, he currently resides and works in Phoenix, Arizona.
